Musical Gifts!

I have a cute design today that mixes stamps from the Blank Page Muse and I Brake for Stamps stores.  I had music teachers in mind when I made this, but I think the sentiment can be used for a special musician at church, or any child who is practicing hard.

You can’t beat the cuteness of the I Brake for Stamps Mostly Mice stamp set.  I adore all the images.  I first stamped the images on patterned paper and also a piece of white cardstock. I colored the white with colored pencils and then fussy cut them carefully.  I had to color the little tail and the violin bow on the patterned paper, but the rest is the white paper pieced over top.

I then used a sentiment from the Blank Page Muse Fall Rubber Stamp set by Pam Bray Designs.  Love love love this unique sentiment!

(As a aside, I was stunned how different the patterned paper looked over different backgrounds!)

Dragonfly with Faux Mixed Media background

Hello stamping friends!  I don’t know about you, but I tend to hoard beautiful patterned papers, but I am trying to reform myself!

Today I have a card design that uses a lot of patterned paper to give the look of mixed media, without the work. I used Pam Bray’s Cyan Consortium papers.  Basically, I used a lot of scraps cut off from making A2 card fronts.  I then just glued them together in a card base and sponged tan ink around the edge. I cut an oval die from another card scrap.

I simply heat embossed the lovely dragonfly stamp from the Fall Rubber Stamp set, also by Pam Bray, over a very light green vellum.  On the inside, I stamped the same dragonfly in light tan ink, and stamped the sentiment over top.

I hope you are inspired to use more patterned paper!  Have a wonderful day!
