Christmas Wishes!

I want to wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday season!
Thank you for visiting my blog today, and all throughout the year.  I appreciate all those who subscribe and especially when you have time to leave a comment.  I do enjoy papercrafting and stamping so much, and it really is a blessing to have the support and encouragement of an online community. Thank you!

My clean and simple card uses a lovely image from I Brake for Stamps Small Christmas sheet and the sentiment is from Christmas Tree Collage Quarter Sheet.  As always, you can save 10% off your order at I Brake for Stamsp using my code SAVE10HEIDI.

I masked off my card front with tape, and blended three colors of Distress Oxide ink: Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves.  I spritzed this with water to get a snowy look.  When it dried, I stamped the scene on top using Distress Oxide Black Soot.

Thank you for visiting!

Almost forgot the teachers - Handmade Christmas cards!

It is the last day of school before Winter Break, and I have the gift cards for the teachers, but did not have any cards left.  (I sent all my extras to recipients from the Angel Card Project.). So I took about 30 minutes to make some super simple designs.

I made two of each design. I used scraps for all of the pieces except the red plaid.  Since these are hand delivered, I was able to use these cute, but bulky embellishments. I had just enough to create the 4 cards I needed.

Stamps are Close to My Heart, paper is Recollections.

Christmas Tree Collage Card

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well with their holiday preparations! I have a card to share that is either good for mass-producing, or for a last minute card.  This card was quick to make because I stamped on watercolor paper and just quickly added color with my pan watercolor set.  This really is a FAST way to add color.

This affordable quarter sheet set has two choices for an outside sentiment and a great inside-of-the-card sentiment too!  As always, save 10% on your I Brake for Stamps order with my code SAVE10HEIDI.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Last Minute Card set - One Sheet Wonder

Last weekend, I quickly realized that I didn’t have enough Christmas cards.  I summoned the One-Sheet Wonder to help make my cards.  And as always, I change the layouts as I please, and jazz them up with different themed stamps so they don’t all look the same.

My cut guide came from this blog.  This double sided paper with two smaller prints worked really well!

Stamps:  Penny Black Jolly Friends, Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas, Close to My Heart ‘Tis the Season, Recollections Christmas Noel, Inkadinkado unnamed set, Tim Holtz Holiday Magic, W Plus9 Pretty Patches Trees, Versafine and Memento Black inks. Paper: Stampin Up

Limited Supply Cardmaking - Cat & Dog Christmas card

Hello!  This has a bit of a backstory, and at the end, I share a resource to send your extra cards directly to those who may need some cheering up this year. So, stay with me!

I recently picked up this unique Cat & Dog Christmas paper pad at Michaels.  It was on sale for $2.50, and it is just too cute to resist.  I really liked that it had lots of sentiment tags in the pad, but on the opposite side of those sheets it had a smaller print which would be easy to use, if you don’t like the tags.

When I got home, I realized that I don’t have any pet-related Christmas stamps.  I spend some time shopping online, but just couldn’t bring myself to order anything.  Instead, I decided to use the patterned paper pad, Christmas sentiment stamps I already own, and a few of the non-Christmas pet stamps I have (I actually have very few, considering the cat-lover I am!)

These are what I came up with!

I added sentiments to the tags that didn’t have one already, and I colored some kitten stamps and used them as embellishments, and even added a little paw print and some tiny snowflakes from a punch.

I got to thinking that this type of paper pad would be great for beginner cardmakers, too!

Supplies: Recollections Happy Pawlidays paper pad, W Plus 9 Pick of the Litter stamp set, Power Poppy Snow Kissed stamp set (sentiments), Inkadinkado Cats stamp set (paw print), Memento and Versafine Black inks, Hero Arts Red Royal ink, EK Success Large snowflake and snowflake border punches

Merry Christmas Bird Houses!

Hello! It has been so dreary recently, in my neck of the woods.  This morning we have a tiny covering of snow outside, but the streets were clear.  I was worried it would be too dark to photograph my card, but I think it turned out okay.

I’ve noticed that some of you are crafting and posting, at a usual rate. While I have really slowed down. I find that I actually craft more right around Christmas, than the beginning of the month.  We will see if that pans out this year, as well.

I made a card this morning with a charming stamp that takes up the whole card front.  This makes Christmas cards easier, as I just needed to add some matting to finish off the card.

I colored the image, Merry Christmas Bird Houses, with alcohol markers, and then I added the details and shading with colored pencils. I find that this helps speed up the coloring process.

As always, you can save 10% off this stamp, and your whole stamp order at I Brake for Stamps using my code SAVE10HEIDI.

Thank you for visiting and have a crafty day!

Glittery Snow Card

Snowmen are one of those stamps where you can have a bunch, but they all seem to have their own personality.  I just adore this one, called Snowman with Lantern

I made my background with Bo Bunny glitter paste and a stencil.  It looks lovely on any color of cardstock, but it looks especially nice on black.  I colored and fussy cut out the snowman, and placed him over a couple die-cut snow hills. I added a little flocking to the snowman’s hat.

The sentiment is from Christmas Tree Collage quarter sheet. This card is still flat for easy mailing.

These stamps are available at the I Brake for Stamps store, where you can use my coupon code SAVE10HEIDI to get 10% off your entire order.

Thanks for visiting!  Happy Stamping!
