Clean and Simple Fall

Hello!  I feel like I am mostly making clean and simple cards recently, and I think that is the time crunch I am constantly feeling.  It’s funny because other times I have really struggle if I tried to make one C&S.

I am enjoying the lovely season of Autumn!  The weather is so nice this year.

This card was created by first using gold texture paste through a stencil. I just eyeballed that it was a rough circle.

Then I heat embossed my Stamptangle leaf from Just for Fun onto watercolor paper. I used water based markers to randomly add fall colors, then I used a water brush to blend.  I fussy cut this out and popped it up over the embossing.

I would love to enter this in ModSquad Autumn Foliage Challenge, Retro Rubber’s Anything Goes challenge (this stamp is a couple years old, and the company is out of business), and WordArtWednesday’s Anything Goes challenge.

Thank you for visiting today!

Outdoorsy Dog Scene Card

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well this week!  We are having such wonderful fall weather!

I have been making a bit of an effort to collect more masculine stamps.  This stamp is called Asleep on the Deck.  I have several recipients in mind who are going to love this scene!

I made a bit of an abstract background for this scene.  I used glossy paper and swiped my inkpads randomly across the paper.  When you wipe the excess ink off, it blends them just so.  You can always repeat the process if you want to add a little more here or there.  Then I stamped right over top with black Memento ink.

I am not sure what occasion I am sending this for, so I left the sentiment off for now. I do think I it could work well for a dog sympathy card.

Thanks for visiting!  Keep on stamping!

Sympathy Cards

Hello!  It is a lovely Sunday morning here, a bit chilly, but I kind of like it that way! I created a couple Sympathy cards with my glossy cardstock backgrounds.

I kept them Clean and Simple, and I like how both turned out.

Supplies: Gina K Painted Autumn and Wild Flowers stamp sets, Unity Life Touches stamp set, Tim Holtz die cuts.

I would love to enter Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Have a great day!

Wine card series - Part 2 - Rainbow Wine

Hello!  I am sharing a card that will be part of a gift set that is all wine themed. I thought it would be fun to do one that did not look traditional for wine.  I did a rainbow!

I did not do anything fancy here, I just winged it for the spacing and luckily it turned out well enough!  The wine bottle is Just for Fun, which is out of business, and I think the sentiment is from an Art Impressions set.  I chose it because I thought it could be used for a birthday or any type of congratulations card, or just a fun hello.

I would love to enter this in SimonSaysStamp’s Monday Challenge - Frame it.

If you would like to see my other wine themed cards, click here.

I think I have mostly caught up with my blog visiting.  If I haven’t visited you, please let me know and I will be over soon!  Have a great weekend!

Safari Scene Card

Hello everyone! I feel really behind with blogging.  I am keeping busy supervising virtual school and we have a home project going on too. I am missing blogs and crafting, but I do have a bunch of cards ready to share, and will be visiting you all, too!

I just love this wonderful Safari stamp. I have used it before on the blog and it just is such a great illustration.

This time, I created a background on glossy paper.  I used my mini dye ink cubes, and pressed them directly onto the paper and twisted them so I didn’t get harsh edges. I wiped the excess ink from the paper and then stamped over top with memento ink.

I finished the card as a Clean and Simple look, by matting with black cardstock and adding a sentiment underneath.

The stamps I used are Pride of Africa and sentiment from Inspirational Phrases. Check them out at the I Brake for Stamps store where you can use my code SAVE10HEIDI to save 10% off your entire order.

I hope you are doing well and would love to hear in the comments what you are up to, or if there is a recent post I missed on your blog.  Have a good day!

Gelli Plate with Background Stamps

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well today!

I would like to show you the results of a simple stamping technique using a gelli plate.  I will first just tell you my process. I applied Distress Oxide ink in a few colors of pink and orange to a gelli plate. I used a brayer, just to even out the ink.

Then, I pressed this large background (5x7 inches) stamp over the gelli plate and removed it.  I made a print of what was left on the gelli plate (center), and then also stamped what remained on the stamp to make another print (right).

This is really fun and fast to do!  The gelli plate not only allows you to make two prints with every stamp, but it also adds a lot of texture you wouldn’t get if you just stamped the traditional way. I also like how you can stamp easily with multiple colors of ink.

So, I made a bunch of prints and then made several cards out of them.  Some of the prints I didn’t like as well, so I either cut them down and used the area I liked.  Or, I stamped flowers over the print and cut them out like it was patterned paper.

The background stamp I used is Huge Floral Background, but you could use any of the great background stamps the I Brake for Stamps carries. The sentiments all came from Inspirational Plate #2.  The flowers are from Floral Half Sheet. (As always, save 10% off your entire order at I Brake for Stamps using my code SAVE10HEIDI.)

I really enjoyed trying something new.  Have you tried any new techniques lately?

House Mouse Back to School Cards

Hello! I wanted to share the rest of the back to school cards I made.

These are all done with Stampendous Masked Mice and then several different school stamp sets I have, both from Stampendous and Close to My Heart. I colored all these images with markers and then die cut them, sponging blue ink inside the die.

I did decorate all the insides of the cards too. Here is an example of what I did, although they are all different. I hope these have all made it to the intended students by now, as most kids will go back by tomorrow at the latest.

I would love to enter Dies R Us Back to School challenge, Cute Card Thursday’s Anything Goes and Word Art Wednesday’s Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks for visiting!

Birthday for an Outdoorsman

I hope you are doing well.  September snuck up on me and I need to get a card out for my brother’s birthday.  He is an outdoor enthusiast, and I found this wonderful stamp that I know he will love!

I first masked off part of my card front. I then sponged green and brown distress oxide ink over the area.  I added some blue to the top to get another color of green. I spritzed this with water to get marks and then stamped over top.

I could have done this in landscape, the stamp is big enough to cover a card that direction too.

I then used a Happy Birthday stamp from another sets and a couple enamel dots to finish this off.  Clean and simple works well for masculine cards.

The stamps I used today can be purchased at the I Brake for Stamps store. Use my code SAVE10HEIDI to save 10% on your entire order. Outdoorsmen Collection , Sentiment from Florals Sheet .

Thank you for visiting today!  What are you working on?
