Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! I am looking forward to the smallest trick-or-treaters!  They are my favorite.

I stamped the bat bouquet 4 times to make a wreath. I used distress oxide ink and spritzed it with water before stamping to get some extra texture. I then stamped the witch and heat embossed her with black.

At first, I tried this without heat embossing, but over the oxide ink, you could see the ghosting of the bat image through the witch (and however Halloween-y that is, I didn’t like the look).  I finished the card off with the popped up sentiment and the sparkley gems. I am so pleased with this card.  It is a non-standard size, and would also make a cute wall hanging.

Supplies:  Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Witch Silhouette, Large, Bouquet of Bats, sentiment set 1, Versafine Black ink, Ranger Black embossing powder, Distress Oxide ink Wilter Violet, Gina K Designs Jelly Bean Green cardstock, Close To My Heart Gold sparkle gems

Rudolph Days - Candy Christmas Card

Hello and hope you are well today.  Ever since I did a Halloween card with this stamp set, I have been meaning to do a Christmas version too.  So here it is!

I stamped out the background with Versafine Black, and then Distress Oxides for the colors (since they stamp so well over colored cardstock).  I added Wink of Stella to the candy wrappers, which again, is barely visible in the photo.  I used markers to add a touch of color to the sentiment and then stamped out a cute candy cane embellishment.  I am proud of this ALL STAMPED card, it is still clean and easy to make and mail.

Supplies: Close to My Heart September Stamp - Just Treats, Versafine Onyx Black, Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry, Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio, Tombow water based markers, twine from my stash.

I am playing in the October Rudolph Days challenge which is Anything Goes Christmas.

THANK YOU for your visit and always, double thanks to those who subscribe or leave a comment here!

More with October Flower of the Month - Cosmos!!!

I was glad that I looked at my list of October birth flowers again, because in addition to the Calendula, the Cosmo is also on the list!  In August, I made a card with this stamp thinking that it was a poppy, but then saw that it is actually Cosmo.  So I got a second chance to use the stamp for the card I am sharing today.

All my Flower-of-the-Month cards can be found HERE.

I used purple and pinks that are more natural for a Cosmo.  It is interesting this is the October Flower of the Month, because this flower blooms in the summer, not the fall, but it is pretty, nonetheless.  I stamped the image with water-based markers (and a light spritzing of water) over a very light kraft cardstock.  The image was framed by scraps of cardstock and patterned paper, using an old decorative edge punch.

Supplies: Impression Obsession Cosmo stamp, Power Poppy sentiment, Tombo Water based markers, EK Success edge punch, kraft papers from Hobby Lobby, other items from stash.

I would love to play in Word Art Wednesday’s Anything Goes challenge.

Thank you for your visit and all your wonderful comments!

Walk on the Wild Side

Hello and TGIF!  I have another Halloween card to share today, made with a non-Halloween image and sentiment.

The papers are clearly from a Halloween pack though!  I colored the cat with markers.  I kind of wish I had used a deeper color, but this will do.  I then stamped the sentiment directly on the orange paper, matted it and popped it up with fun foam.  I like using the fun foam because it is thinner than dimensional adhesive and will go through the mail easily with one stamp.

Supplies: Tim Holtz Crazy Cats, Hero Art The Adventure Begins stamp set (sentiment), Memento and Versafine Black ink, American Crafts Pumpkin Patch 6x6 paper pad

I would love to play in SplitCoastStampers Free for All Challenge - Halloween,
Lost Coast Portal to Creativity’s Cats & Dogs challenge,
SimonSaysStamp’s Monday Challenge - Halloween/Spooky , and
SimonSaysStamp’s Wednesday Challenge - Halloween/Spooky.

Thank you for your visit today! Hope you have time for crafting this weekend!

Monster Mash

Hello!  Halloween is approaching and I am just about to get my cards in the mail.  The other night at my craft group, I decided to color these little monsters up with colored pencils.  It is a lot easier to travel with a small case of pencils than markers, so I usually what I use when I am there.  Also, I do like the extra texture you get with pencils.

The first card I used a black card front with a peek a boo window, cut up the sentiment, and added silver Nuvo glitter drops.

The second card uses scraps from a Halloween paper pad.  I really do like coloring little monsters, because of the freedom of choosing whatever colors I feel like.

Supplies: I Brake for Stamps Monster Mash stamp set, Versafine Black ink, Prismacolor pencils, American Crafts Pumpkin Patch 6x6 patterned paper pad, Nuvo Silver glitter and Black drops, MFT Peekaboo window die, Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangles die, other items from my stash.

Dracula Halloween Card

Hello! Thanks for coming by!  I was able to make a card for some challenges, so I am back with another post today!

(I didn’t have trouble commenting elsewhere yesterday, so that is a good sign!  It seems like it is just one variation of the google/blogger comment form that is an issue.)

I colored the creepy Dracula image with alcohol markers.  I then stamped the tree onto some patterned paper.  This paper is meant to be a tropical sky, so I edged it with black distress ink.  I was not happy that it covered so many of the stars, so I added flicks of white paint.  Dracula was then popped up onto the card with foam tape.

Supplies:  Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Dracula and Crooked Old Tree, Memento and Versafine Black inks, Aquarelle 6x6 patterned paper pad, Distress Ink Black Soot, white acrylic paint

I would love to play along with The Library Challenge - Dracula, and SimonSaysStamp’s Monday Challenge - Starry Night.

October Flower-of-the-Month Calendula (Plus a note about my comments)

Hello, hope you are well this weekend!  First of all, especially if I seemed not to have commented on your blog recently, please see my note at the bottom of this post.

I am continuing with October’s Birth Flower series - my second card this month.  You can see all my cards for the year HERE.  I have this lovely stamped image of a calendula that is from Blockhead stamps, a company that is now out of business.

I colored this in pinks and lighter green.  As I often do, if a card isn’t needed for anything else, and it looks right, I often will add a Sympathy sentiment.  You all know that it is hard to make these only when you need them, so I try to stash them away ahead of time.

Supplies: Blockhead stamps Calendula, Memento black ink, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Gina K Assorted Greetings stamp set, Versamark Ink, Recollections White detail embossing powder, Gina K Dark Sage cardstock

A note on my comments:  I recently noticed that many of the comments I have been leaving on all your blogs have not gone through!  I was so sad, as I really enjoy visiting other blogs and seeing what you are making!

Basically, I had thought a lot of people were moderating comments, but later happened to see that they never showed up.  For the one kind of comment box, when I hit submit, it apparently logs me out of my google account instead of submitting the comment.  I haven’t found an easy fix, but I will keep working on it.  So very very sorry if you read my blog, but thought I was not visiting yours!  I think this has been going on for weeks. :(

I always appreciate every comment, and always try to visit your blog, too, if you leave a way for me to do so.

Add One More Flower...

Hello!  I would like to share a card today using a combination of stamps from different sets.  I started out knowing that I wanted to make a card using a dark card base and I knew what basic layout I was going to use.

I first stamped the lattice stamp from the Bubble Wrap, Lattice and Flowers sheet on kraft cardstock and used gold embossing powder.  This stamp is about ATC sized, so it is a nice starting point for a card layout.  I then stamped and colored flowers from the Floral Half Sheet set.  I started with two, and then kept stamping “just one more” and adding it to the card until I had five flowers total.  I added a few little sequins to add some extra shine to the card.  The Hello sentiment was also heat embossed in gold.

Halloween Witch with Floating Alcohol Ink Technique

Hello!  I have a spooky Halloween card today.  I had done some backgrounds using the Floating Alcohol Ink technique, and because of my color choices, they work well for a crazy Halloween sky.  Here is a link to a video that shows you how to do this technique.  It is an odd one for alcohol inks, because you use regular cardstock, but it is a fun and different way to use them.

Couldn’t have been simpler to finish this card once I had that background done.  I stamped right over my background, then stamped a second time on yellow paper, and paper pieced the moon.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Moonlit Witch Silhouette,  Sentiment set 1, Versafine Black ink, Adirondack Alcohol inks (didn’t mark down what colors I used), sequins, other items from my stash.

I’d like to enter this in City Crafter’s Halloween Challenge.

Thanks for visiting today, and always a double thanks to those who take time to comment and follow. Have a great day!

Thank You Card - Stencil Monopring with Distress Oxides

Hi everyone!  Hope you are doing well.  I have been trying to do more challenges lately and this is one inspired by SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple challenge, to use stenciling and NO STAMPED OR DIE CUT IMAGE!!  Yikes!  (Sentiments are allowed.)

I decided to do a stencil monoprint by applying Distress Oxide inks to my stencil, spritzing it and then placing it in a clean area of my craft sheet where I could apply it to my paper.  It took me a few tries to get a color combination I liked.  I tried adding the color randomly at first, but I much prefer this ombré look.

Supplies:  Hero Arts CL748 You’re So Kind, Versafine Black ink, Distress Oxide Fosilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry inks, Plaid Folk Art stencil Ditsy Floral, Gina Marie X Stitched Circle dies, sequins from my stash, Gina K Designs Passionate Pink cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Candy Card

Hello!  I generally like Halloween for giving out candy, not too scary for me, so I liked making this candy themed Halloween card.

I stamped the candy wrappers first to get them mostly even in the background, filled in with the little stars, then I used three colors of Distress Oxide ink to do the centers.  I don’t think you can see in in the photos, but I added Wink of Stella to the candy wrappers, and it really looks good!!

I also used Distress Oxides for the colored border on the green tag, lining it with thin pieces of black cardstock scraps.  The ribbon is left over from a gift I received.  It is going a long way as I used it on a card last week as well, with plenty leftover.

Supplies: Close to My Heart September Just Treats Stamp set, Versafine Black ink, Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron and Wilted Violet inks, Gina K Jelly Bean Green cardstock, Tim Holtz tag dies, Wink of Stella clear glitter pen, other supplies from my stash.

I would love to enter this card into Cute Card Thursday’s Halloween Challenge, Stampendous 31 Days of Halloween Challenge and Pixie’s Snippets Playgroud #337 -Anything Goes with Scraps. Thank you for inspiring us with your blog challenges!

And thank YOU for your kind visit today.  I’d love to hear from you and visit your blog too. Leave me a comment with a link!  Have a good day!

October Flower-of-the-Month - Calendula!

Hello, I am continuing with my self-imposed Flower-of-the-Month challenge. I am using stamps in my stash that go along with the traditional Birth Flowers.  October’s flower is the Calendula, also known as the English Marigold.  It comes in yellows, oranges and peach.  It really is a pretty flower for fall colors. (Click HERE to see all my Flower of the Month posts for 2018.)

I colored my stamp with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out.  I popped it up over my die cut, added a ribbon. I had that sentiment already sitting on my desk from a previous project idea.  I found this fabulous plaid paper that I think looks perfect.

Supplies:  I Brake for Stamps October Calendula, Sentiment stamp set, Memento black ink, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Gina Marie x stitched rectangles, Carta Bella Beach Day 6x6 paper pad, Kraft cardstock from Hobby Lobby, other items from my stash.

I do have another Calendula image, so I hope to have a second card for my series this month. I just need to find it!

Owl Soccer card for a Girl

Hello!  The sun is shining and I have so many errands to run today, but I wanted to get this card posted first.  I needed to make a soccer card for a little girl, so I hunted through my stamps to see what might work.  This scene is what I came up with.

Most of the stamps are from Purple Onion designs.  I thought the owl was cute and it almost looks like she is kicking with her little feet!  I masked a birthday hat onto the owl and colored her with a pink shirt with white stripes, thanks to my white gel pen.

The soccer ball was covered with a thick layer of glossy accents.  It needed to dry overnight.  I did stamp the ball on the panel, but then used an action wobble to pop up the glossy ball.  When you touch it, it boings a little bit, but it does push down flat in your envelope.  You can buy the action wobbles at Art Impressions or Amazon.  I needed the Mini size for the soccer ball but there is a larger size too.

I did decorate the inside of the card, but totally forgot to photograph it!

Supplies:  Purple Onion designs stamps Ruby (owl), grass, Party Hat, Happy Birthday, Unity Stamps Making the Team stamp set, Memento black ink, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, MAMBI Champs 8x8 patterned paper pad, Gina K Passionate Pink cardstock, glossy accents, action wobble.

I would love to enter Tuesday Throwdown’s Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks, as always, for your kind comments and for all my followers. I hope to be back around to visit y’all later today. Have a great day!

World Cardmaking Day - More Florals!

Yesterday was World Cardmaking Day! I hope you were able to do some crafting!  Luckily, the challenge goes through today, so if you are a touch late, like me, you still have time.  We were doing stuff around the house, and by the time I got to blogging last night, Blogger was really acting up for me, so I went to bed!

If I only ever made cards for myself, I think they would all be florals!  This is a lovely retired stamp I have used before by Heartfelt Creations. I heat embossed it and added watercolors, then wink of Stella glittery over the whole thing.  When I added it to the panel, I just popped up portions of it and glued down others.  I kind of like it that way!

Supplies:  Heartfelt Creations Flirty Fleurs stamp set, Versafine black ink, Recollections Clear embossing powder, watercolor paper, My Mind’s Eye Bramble Rose 6x6 paper pad, Spellbinders Fancy Edge Rectangles dies, Our Daily Bread Designs sentiment, Tim Holtz tag dies, other items from my stash

Potted Florals Card

Hello! Happy Thursday!  I know that soon I will need to bring in my potted plants that I have out on my back deck.  I think I need to do that before night time temperatures are 45 degrees or lower.  Right now it is milder again, so for now they are happy out there getting extra sun.   Most of mine are cacti and succulents, but I would like to have some pretty florals like I stamped on my card today.

I did do some simple masking over the smaller stamp before I stamped the tulip pot.  I then colored it in with alcohol markers before composing this layout with patterned papers. I’m not 100% sure what the smaller flower is, do you think it might be a amaryllis?  That is what I was thinking of when I picked the color.

I used one of my older edge punches for the little yellow border. I find that my edge punches still work well and are worth keeping around.  Do you still have punches?

Supplies:  I Brake for Stamps Floral Half Sheet, Memento ink, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Echo Park Homegrown 6x6 paper pad, Recollections Enamel dots, EK Success edge punch, Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangles dies.

Gingerbread Ornament Christmas Card

Hi Everyone!!  I am fitting in more Christmas cards this month, making sure I will have plenty in my stash when the time comes.

I colored the image with alcohol markers, adding Wink of Stella glitter to the snowy portions. (You can probably see this in the detail photo.)  I then stamped out the little peppermint candy in pink and mint, hand cut them out and arranged them at the bottom of the image panel.  This layout idea came from Tuesday Morning Sketches #473.

I’m thinking of adding a bow to the top of the ornament, what do you think?

Supplies: Just for Fun Gingerbread House Ornament, Peppermint Candy 1, Sentiments 1 Unmounted sheet, Memento Black ink, Avery Elle pigment ink Mint to Be and Raspberry, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, American Crafts WishList 6x6 paper pad

Just for Fun’s October Halloween Challenge!

Hi everyone!  It’s time for another really fun Halloween challenge!  Get out your stamps and make a card to share in Just for Fun’s monthly challenge.

My card uses a classic layout and a fun little focal point with a Distress Oxide background.  I stamped the witch hat twice, sponged two colors of ink on the first, and then colored the hat with markers.  I trimmed that out and popped it up to create dimension.

I hope you will play along!

I thank you for your visit today!  And double thanks to those of you who follow my blog or leave comments!  You are the best!
