B is for Budgie

Hello!

(Click on photos for larger size.)

This cute image was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with watercolor pencils.  I added a little sparkle from a Stardust glitter pen.  I colored my Budgie grey, which is not as interesting as many of the ones I recently saw at the pet store.  (I would love to get a bird, but I looked it up and it seems you really REALLY can't have one if you have a cat...)

The teacups really remind me of the ones in my Grandma's collection, so I went further and found some patterned paper that looked like wallpaper she might have had in her house back in the day...   I think it turned out very pretty and quaint.

Supplies:  Power Poppy Short Stacks stamp set, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Derwent Watercolor pencils, Spellbinders Ovals and Scalloped Ovals dies, KI Memories Doilies paper pad by Hampton Arts, Gina K Applemint cardstock.

I would love to participate in the following challenges:

Love your card. This is one of my favorite images. Sweet little bird and the teacups remind me of a softer, kinder time.

Such a cute card. Your watercolouring is so perfect. I love teacups and the budgie is so cute on them. I had budgies for 20 years and got so much enjoyment out of them. Too bad you can't have one.

Hi Heidi, WOW what a Beautiful card, your teacups look just like Gran's cups and that budgie looks like one I had a few years ago, they all have a personality of their own, currently have two budgies, one who is the first bird I've ever had who chirps at his water (his reflection probably) then gets in and stays in for several minutes... then repeats many times even in the middle of winter... thank you for the inspiration... Love that gorgeous budgie and he's especially perfect on his stack of tea cups... although I'm not sure just how safe that is going to be for him lol. Great choice of colours, makes for such a pretty card!

Ahhh...this is so sweet and reminds me of my Grandma too. She always had a budgie and swore that it talked. No one ever heard it but them, though!

I have a confession to make. I love china and have many, many teacups. I think it gives away my age which is well into my sixties! hahaha

This is a very pretty card and I really like the soft shading you added around the finished image.

Oh, Heidi, I just love this little budgie atop the teacups, and what a beautiful card! I love the DP you've used (so soft and delicate), and I love the soft colors for your image! Beautiful layout with the scalloped over, and how sweet that these cups remind you of your grandma's! Hugs, sweet friend!
