Hello and thank you for stopping by. Today I have a masculine card to share! I really like how it turned out.
I am sending this off to my son who is at sleep away camp this week. I wrote a joke inside, so hopefully it does bring sunshine and laughter.
The stamped image was done over top of a piece that I had done the Polished Stone technique with green, blue and brown alcohol inks on glossy cardstock. I have noticed that many people are using alcohol inks in new and different ways, but I am such a fan of this old standby technique!

Then I used my absolute favorite background stamp in my favorite combination -- woodgrain with Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink Chestnut Roan over Kraft card.
Supplies: Rubber Stampede Fern Frand, Archival Ink Jet Black, Hero Arts Woodgrain Background stamp, Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink Chestnut Roan, Hero Arts CL342 stamp set, Alcohol inks, Glossy cardstock, Kraft cardstock, Distress ink Tea day for sponging edges.
I would love to participate in the following challenges:

I thought the kraft background was paper but it isn't! Fabulous to stamp it and look so realistic. I would stay with your tried and tested method of alcohol inks and glossy card because it's stunning. All finished off beautifully with the black fern. Bet your son loved it (and the poem inside). Thanks for Shanghai this beauty x
Thanks for sharing this beauty ...it should read x
Thanks so much!
What a gorgeous card Heidi. I love the polished stone technique, and like you, see it everywhere again. I must really try to create with my alcohol inks again. The fern is really nice. How fun for your son to receive the card. I just made one for my daughter as a thank you for letting me stay at her place while she drives out east for vacation. She lives in a very big city so Al and I are both excited. We live for vaca on Friday so she can show us what she needs to before they leave the next morning.
What a great camper card...with a focus more about where he is instead of missing home. I'm sure he will know Mom is thinking of him! Love your AI backgrounds with such a pretty mix of colors as well as a terrific selection of stamps.
TFS!
That looks fantastic, excellent guy card, great inspiration for breaking out those alcohol inks!! I love that wood background too!
I really like the technique you chose to create this background and the colors are wonderful - especially with that fern silhouette image and woodgrain cardbase!
