All Occasion Cards Needed!

I send out a bunch of cards this week and realized that my card stash is just about lower than it has ever been before!  That is great that I am sending them out, but I felt I needed to get some made, and especially ones that can be used for all occasions.

The image is from Power Poppy, one I had stamped in my travel sketch pad to color on the go.  I did this because I had never used this image on a card, although I have used all the others in the set.  I colored this with pencils and added touches of glitter gel pen that you can sortof see in the close-up below.

I used a sketch for this card. It just happened that this piece of alcohol ink background I made previously looked nice with the colors.  This is current, slate, cranberry and bottle alcohol inks.

The butterfly might be from Maya Road, but I have long since lost the packaging.  I love the vellum!

Supplies: Power Poppy Short Stacks stamp set, Archival Ink, Strathmore sketch paper, Derwent Coloursoft pencils, Gelly Roll stardust glitter pen, craft foam to pop up image, cardstock and embellishments from my stash, Spellbinders circle die.

I would love to participate in the following challenge:

Yes, despite all the cards I make, I never seem to have one ready in an emergency! This is so perfect to have on hand..fresh and pretty and colourful.

It's funny, I made a a.i. background so similar in colour just the other day. You made a very nice all occasion card. I have all kinds of cards as I hoard. Really, I need to start using them instead of making one at the time I need one LOL.

Beautiful design and extra points to you for mailing cards out! I tend to hoard too much - lol! Thanks for joining us at Mojo Monday!

Sweet image and you've colored it nicely. My stash is pretty low too...less than 10 cards.

I have only colored this one from the set and you have done a great job with it, your background is great with it!

I think the power sketch pad is a great idea. I carry a "Zentangle" sketch pad with me when I travel. Sometimes I take those out and use them on cards. I also have a watercolor sketch pad that I use to practice as I work on my "real" watercolor images. What type of paper do you use in your copics pad? Do you have to put something between the pages to keep from bleeding through?

The blank sketch pads I have are from Strathmore. One is Bristol paper and one is sketch paper. The bristol paper can handle a little water for wet techniques. The sketch paper I use for colored pencil. I currently do not have one that works for alcohol markers, but that would be nice to have! But, those markers are so large, I don't like to travel with them as they take up too much space.
