Sepia Silhouette Flowers

Hello again, stamping friends!  It is a drizzly and dreary day today and I have been stamping quite a bit. This is one of the cards that I finished.

I wanted to use this beautiful silhouette stamp from Purple Onion.  I wish I knew what flower it was supposed to be, but it is definitely pretty.** I used sepia ink to stamp on patterned paper.

Then I noticed the bit of pink in the patterned paper, so I got out a sheet of pink cardstock. The damask stamp was already out with my other Purple Onion stamps, so I naturally reached for it.

Just a few more details till it was finished.  My card recipient won't know about this, but I thought I would tell you.  Instead of stamping on another sheet of cardstock, I just cut my little circle right out of the middle of my background.  :) This probably stemmed from laziness more than frugality.

Supplies: Purple Onion Designs Flower Cluster, Damask Background, Technique Tuesday Little Sentiments, Versafine Sepia ink, Hero Arts Soft Sand shadow ink, Prima Nature Garden 6x6 Paper pad; Spellbinders circle dies, Gina K Designs Innocent Pink and Dark Chocolate cardstocks

I would love to participate in this challenge:

Mojo Monday Sketch #493

** (Did you know that stamp is only $2!!? I saw the price when I was looking up the name for my supply list. They have a few that are cheap like that! Wow!)

This turned out so pretty, and I love the idea of stamping on dsp - something I rarely ever think of doing! I may steal your idea of cutting smaller elements from the centers now so that the hole in the center can be hidden beneath another image panel! Brilliant! I learn so much from you :)

Yes I don't think to stamp on DP's either, so thanks for that. Great colour combination and the silhouette flower looks amazing against it x

Oh so pretty! I went to look at the stamp, 'flower cluster' lol that was no help. They almost look like pansies to me. This is a beautiful card, love your colors and the stamping. Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Double D Challenge Blog, Donna, DT Member.

Wowza, this card totally rocks. I love the stamping on DP. Because the stalks are so tall, I'm thinking these might be orchids.

I cut things out of the bottom panel of patterned paper quite frequently to use like you did, on the same card. Sometimes when it is a really cool pattern I will cut out a big circle or square just to have around for something else.

Anyway, your card is wonderful! Love the sort of vintage vibe those colors give off.

Gorgeous! This is a beautiful stamp. I think the flower is an orchid but I am not positive1
Your colours here are so pretty.

Sorry have not been visiting as much. We are almost through the main floor reno...just the backsplash to be knocked off and then counters laid and finally the new backsplash.
I will be glad to finish as it is dusty and dirty in the house!

Oh wow this is just gorgeous, I love the background stamping and your silhouette looks great on it... I need to remember that trick for cutting a sentiment base out of the same background paper :)
