Hello and Happy Monday! I hope you are well and you are taking care of your mental health as well. I think it is true for most crafters that crafting is a great part of caring for ourselves.
Today I have a Christmas card to share. I don’t think I will make my monthly goal but hope to make up for it next month.
I created an Ombré watercolor wash with my Daniel Smith paints. I didn’t get it faded quite as well as I would have liked. (These paints are really rich and I am still getting used to them.). After it dried, I stamped over top with this awesome stamp and painted it in.
Let me just tell you that I love this stamp from Technique Junkies. This is a TRUE Christmas cactus, not like the ones I have. Mine (and almost everyone’s) are actually considered a Thanksgiving Cactus. The leaf segments have a different shape, but they are still lovely. Mine are actually just at the end of their second bloom cycle. I also have an Easter Cactus, but I can never get them to rebloom. They are tricky!
I would love to enter the March Rudolph Days challenge.
Thank you for visiting! I am a bit busy trying to figure out the cyber schooling. One of my kids is used to this format and will not need help. But, the other is going to need help adjusting (as will his teachers!) However, I do hope to be round visiting all your blogs soon!
Stay well and keep on stamping!

Hi Heidi,
that is a very lovely card and your Christmas Cactus stamped image is very pretty.
Love all the colouring as well.
My Son has a very big Christmas Cactus plant and it is so pretty when it flowers.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.DT
This is a very pretty card, and I love the fonts with lines for the sentiment - what a great look! I admire your green thumb as I cannot grow anything indoors - never could! Maybe it's the sound of my voice they don't like? LOL Take care and have a great week ahead - even if you are indoors!
Love this Christmas Cactus image and love your card too! The DP looks great here.
My Mum always had a Christmas cactus that she kept all year and then it started to bloom just before Christmas. Hers was a pink colour...not sure if it truly was a Christmas one now!!!
Thanks for taking part in the March Rudolph Days Challenge.
This is just lovely Heidi, your background is beautifully painted as is your super flower, I hope you are keeping well, and yes it's so important to look after your mental health too, having something to laugh at helps, Kate x
Good luck with the schooling. Don't let it stress you or the kids. Your Christmas Cactus is really nice. I don't have a green thumb. I swear if it was plastic it would die. Ugh! So unlike my mother who could grow anything. [Bunny]`
So beautiful. I used to have one of those and it was always so lovely when it bloomed.
Coloured beautifully. Indeed, mental health is so important. Thanks for bringing to the forefront.
Beautiful card Heidi, love the stamp and your colouring.x
Pretty Christmas card! I know very little about cacti, and you got me curious - lol! I did a little research on Thanksgiving and Christmas cacti after reading your post; both types are beautiful (but different!), and I never even knew they existed!!
Good luck with the cyber schooling. My kids'(college) online classes seem to be going well, but they are really missing the actual human interaction with their classmates and friends. One of my sons just found out his summer internship (that was supposed to be in Washington DC) is now virtual, and my other two are still waiting to hear if they still have internships at all. The most important thing is that we are all healthy, but it is still tough.
Stay well.
Such a pretty Christmas card! I have a thanksgiving cactus, sold as a christmas cactus, that blooms once every 9 years around christmas so it’s lovely to see your card. Thank you so much for playing along with the Rudolph Days Challenge!

Beautifully done, I have not had much luck with cactus, how neat you have so many kinds.
Hope all things are going well with the schooling!
What a beautiful and festive design here Heidi! I'm not great at all with growing plants as I can kill a cactus! LOL!! I'm more of an outdoor flower person in the Spring and Summer! LOL! Brilliant job creating the watercolor wash for your background here! Hope you stay well and happy my friend! HUGS
Nice to see a different flower/cactus image being used for Christmas and what wonderful colours x.
Beautiful Christmas flower. Great good luck with the schooling! XOX
