Santa’s Hat - Crayon Resist Card

Hello!  Hope you’re doing well this December.  I am not making quite as much this month, but I do have a few things left to share this year.

A stamping friend challenged our group to make backgrounds with Crayon, and this card using one of those backgrounds. I scribbled Red, Green and White crayons on white cardstock, then applied black dye ink over top and the crayon resisted the black ink.  It may not use fancy products but, gosh, these are fun to make!

I die cut a portion of the background, and then used a birthday hat die to cut a Santa hat, adding flocking to the white portions.  Not much stamping on this card, but it was really fun to make!

Supplies:  Hero Arts Party Hats die set, Echo Park Cheers stamps set, Hero Arts Red Royal ink, Black Soot Distress ink, Crayola crayons, Darice embossing folder, paper scraps from my stash, Gina Marie designs X Stitched Circle dies, EK Success Flocking.

I’d love to play along with SimonSaysStamp’s Wednesday Christmas challenge and Snippets Challenge at Pixie’s Crafty Workshop.

Thank you for all the kind comments left lately!  It really is an encouragement, and have been especially happy to visit the blogs of some newer commenters!

Hi Heidi, a fabulous Christmas card and love the use of the crayons and black ink to make the background, I can quite imagine this being in a designer paper pad... Have a wonderful week... Megan

That makes for a great background and I have not done that technique for ages. I love your squiggle design and in those festive colors. It looks so fantastic with the Santa hat.

That's a great crayon resist background, and I love the Ho HO Ho sentiment with Santa's hat! Fun card!
