Birthday Treat Tie Dye Card!

Hello everyone! I was missing the last week or so because we all got Covid!  Two+ years of avoiding it and then it seems lots of people, just like us, are getting it for the first time now!  It was a bit rough, but no severe symptoms.  DH is still recovering, but the rest of us are feeling much more energetic.

So anyhow!  I actually have a few cards I made before I got sick, just need to photograph and share them! This card is one of two I made in the same style.  The other one got sent off to my nephew for his birthday before I had a chance to photograph it.

The tie dye part is a stamp set, and is fun to use in different colors!  The little Penguin is an old dollar stamp and I love to paper piece his swimsuit.  I wish I had a girl version of it too.  Super fun and easy card to make!

Father’s Day Family Tree Card

 Happy Father’s Day!

This is the card I made for my grandpa.  He is not currently in good health but I hope he will gain a small bit of enjoyment looking at this card.  I do definitely believe he is a strong foundation for our family.

Old-Timey Silhouette Stamped Card Set

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good weekend!

I recently was playing with this set of stamps from the I Brake for Stamps store simply called Silhouettes #1.  It has a variety of old-timey, maybe Victorian silhouette images. I find them so charming!  I had out this set of watercolor-look modern patterned papers, and I decided they were going to work together!  I think they did!

The sentiments are from Half Sheet 138B. (As always, you can used my affiliate code to save 15% off your order and I would receive a small percentage as well.)

I simply stamped the images over top of the patterned paper.  Some I die cut and some I added a little sponged ink.  The purple card was put over top of a watercolor background I had made with Shimmer Colorbursts.  The green card was put over a background that I created with the flourish stamp in the set.

This last card I decided to make a mini Slimline card and the image was just the perfect size!  I also added some bakers twine as trim. So cute! I really like how these turned out.

It was fun to create several cards all at once using the same set!  Hope you have a great day!

Vellum and Markers Background Technique

Hello everyone! I had this card I realized I hadn’t posted yet.  A while back my online stamping group had some challenges and one of them was to complete this technique with vellum, which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/vDSsaKSM-6s.

Basically you scribble marker on your vellum and then blend it with drops of rubbing alcohol.  You then emboss the vellum and you can go over the raised parts with an inkpad.  I found this technique worked, BUT for some reason mine took a really long time to dry.  But after leaving it overnight it was dry to use on a card.

Here is how I finished the inside of the card.

Father’s Day Sailboat Scene

Hello everyone! I had a busy last 10 days but will have a little calm this week.  Although school is about out so that isn’t always calm.

I purchased a couple Hero Arts Kit from Joann and it took FOR-EV-ER to arrive but it finally came after about 3-4 weeks.  They are a really good deal though so it is okay.  Basically they are a combination of Hero Arts products packaged together, and they didn’t use packaging on each item (like the stamp set has no wrapper, etc) to keep costs down.  This is what I used for today’s card, which is for Father’s Day.

July Larkspur Card for Any Occasion

Hello everyone! I would love to share this pretty floral stamp with you.  The I Brake for Stamps store carries stamps that I call Flower of the Month Stamps.  This Larkspur is for July.  Each of the Flower of the Month stamp comes in a regular size and a Jumbo size.  The stamp I used is the regular size, but if you often make cards that are larger than A2, or if you like to fill up most of the card front, you may prefer the jumbo size.  Both stamps are found in the store HERE called July’s Larkspur and July Larkspur - Jumbo. (As always, you can use my affiliate code BPM15 to save 15% off your order, I would receive a small percentage of the sale also.)

I stamped and colored my image with alcohol markers. I did emphasize the flower centers with a white gel pen.  My background is a gelli print made with an embossing folder.  I didn’t put the sentiment on this card yet because I think it can be used for anything and I don’t yet know to whom I will send it.
