Many Thanks Stamped Card - Using Up Patterned Paper

Thanks for visiting me today!  I think there are three main reasons it is satisfying to use your 6x6 patterned paper pads.  #1) Using your stash makes all your cardmaking supply purchases feel justified.  #2) When you use a bunch, you can go shopping for more patterned paper! #3) To play along with CraftyHazelnut’s May Patterned Paper challenge!  Can you think of any more??

All the blue in this card project is older patterned paper that I am trying to use up.  Formerly, I had been hoarding some of the papers that I really love, but now I am trying to use them!

This card has layers of patterned paper, and it also the stamping has been done on patterned paper, and I paper-pieced the flowers from scraps.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps High Wheeler Bicycle Motif and Old Time Bicycle Motif stamps, Sentiment Sheet 1, Versafine Onyx Black ink, My Mind’s Eye older 6x6 paper pads (multiple scraps), Die’sire Edgeables Rococo

April Flower of the Month Card - Part Two - Sweet Peas

Hello and hope you are having a good day.  I have been quite busy recently and it is harder to get cards not only made, but then photographed and blogged.  I am also in the process of moving my craft space to another room (I currently craft in an old computer armoire, and will be moving to a larger desk soon - stay tuned...).

However, I was able to get a second card made for the April Edition of my Flower of the Month Series!  The first flower for April was Daisy, and the second is the Sweet Pea!  They won’t bloom where I live till around June, but they are so pretty.  I have this framed stamp from Stacy Stamps’ Framed Flowers line, which I found out was another flower of the month stamp line!  I didn’t even realize it!  Peruse all of them here.

I started coloring this stamp with alcohol markers one evening, and when it came time to work on the frame, I blanked.  I set it aside.  The next morning right before I woke up, I dreamed that I was paper piecing that frame.  Not kidding!  That was the perfect idea, and that is what I ended up doing.  The rest of the card is clean - just added a pretty sentiment from Just for Fun.

Supplies: Stacy Stamps April Sweet Pea stamp, Memento and Versafine black inks, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Prima Nature Garden 6x6 Paper pad, Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Unmounted Sentiments 1, Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangles die, speckled paper and cardstocks from my stash.

Flower of the Month Card Series - April Daisies

Hello! I’m back with another post for my Flower of the Month series.  This is where I am trying to use more of my flowers stamps by making as many cards each month as I can with the stamps I already have.  The second flower for April is the Daisy!  This is a fun and versatile flower to stamp with, so today I have a card using my stamp two ways!

My first card is very clean and simple, using bright colors, a bold design and heat embossing.

My second card is more organic, I created this daisy chain out of colored and fussy cut flowers and put it over a tattered screen background stamp.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Flora and Fauna sheet, Tattered screen background, Sentiment Word Block, Memento and Versafine black inks, Hero Arts Soft Sand ink, Versamark ink, White detail embossing powder, all cardstock was in my scrap box, Cuttlebug Daisy embossing folder

Thank you SO MUCH for your visit! I hope you will have time to comment or subscribe to my blog.

Birthday Card set for kids of all ages

We are having the most lovely warm weather the last couple days, and I am enjoying it as a cold front will come through this evening.  I know areas are still getting snow, so I am really counting my blessings today!

I have a card set to share today.  I got out a couple of the Lawn Fawn stamp sets and colored some images, then finished off a pad of birthday paper to make them into cards.  I am so glad to have this basic type of card in my stash, as they would be good for anyone!

I would love to enter the Lawn Fanatics Card Set Challenge and two of these qualify for the Cards in Envy Get Negative challenge. Thank you for hosting these challenges!

Clean and Simple Spring Card & Project Safelight Reminder

Hello and happy Tuesday!  We had snowflakes again last night, but I am assured that it will be warm later this week!  I purchased some pansies last week, but kept them in the garage. I think I will pot them up today!  I don’t see any further freezing temperatures in the forecast, but what a strange spring!

I am sharing two cards today.  I used the same sketch (I was too late to link it to that challenge!) for both but made one more simple.  I fussy cut my images after coloring and added a touch of glitter to the centers.  I only took a quick photo of the pink card because it needed to get in the mail immediately.

Supplies:  Gina K Designs Whimsical Spring stamp set, Gina K Inspiration Mosaic (just the sentiment), Memento and Versafine Black inks, KI Memories Doilies 6x6 paper pad, My Mind’s Eye Stella & Rose Mabel 6x6 paper pad, Nuvo glitter drops, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers

I would love to enter the ModSquad Simply Clean Challenge and since my floral patterned paper was a scrap, also Snippets Playground #323 challenge.  Thanks to our wonderful hosts for holding these challenges!

Please don’t forget to send your encouragement cards to the Project Safelight card drive, they are due April 30th.  Details (including prize drawing) at From My Carolina Home.

Thank you for being here!  Have a good day!

Blue Floral Frame Card - Versafine Clair

Hello!  I am playing with some challenges today.  When I saw the inspiration card at the bottom of this post, the first thing I thought of was this older stamp set I have and my new Versafine Clair inkpad that I purchased just in the color Paradise.

It is a lovely ink, and it is more slick than expected!  I did smear an image at first, but it was not really a problem after I got a feel for it.  It stamp so solidly! (I also want to note that it is a touch more aqua, in real life, than pictured.)  I have all the ink cubes for regular Versafine, but I will be putting more of the Clair inkpads on my wish list as they have really great colors.

I popped up my sentiment on fun foam, and then fussy cut out two flowers in black and popped them up too.  I like this look a lot!  It is a little bit traditional and fussy, but still has lots of white space.  I added three little dots of black Nuvo drops to finish off the card.

Supplies: Gina K Designs Made with Love stamp set, Versafine Clair Paradise ink, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Spellbinders circle die, Cuttlebug Decorative frames embossing folder, Nuvo drops black.

I would love to play along with City Crafter’s 406 Birthday Celebration with the below inspiration card!  Also, I would love to enter SimonSaysStamp’s Wednesday Challenge - Happy Birthday!

I know your time can be used in many ways so I am glad you chose to visit me for a bit today!

Spring Flowers Teacup Cards

Hello and thanks for stopping by!  I want to share two cards I made with analogous color schemes.  I go into more detail about what this is at my design team post today at Just for Fun.

Hey, remember when I broke my cuttlebug back in February?  Well, this stamped image is the one that broke it!  I had to step away from these for a bit before making them into cards!

Charitable Cardmaking - Beach Cards for Domestic Abuse Survivors

Today, I am spotlighting a special project that cardmakers can help with.   Carole at From My Carolina Home is creating Summer Themed Gift bags for residents at her local domestic abuse shelter, Project Safelight.  She is accepting monetary donations, donated sewn goods and handmade cards!  See her detailed blog post HERE.  (Note that Carole has arranged for some random prizes for this project!)

Since there are special considerations regarding the sentiments for these cards (all contained in the blog post link above) I decided on this sentiment from Gina K Designs set I have.  I was formerly inclined to use it only with sympathy cards, but after emailing Carole about it, we both decided that it would work well for the people in the shelter.

Plus, I had really wanted to do beachy cards to go with the summer theme, so the sentiment works great with these silhouette stamps from Just for Fun.  I went ahead and made some backgrounds using Distress Oxide inks on plain cardstock.  To get some control over the color placement, I picked the color up on a piece of acetate and then applied it to my card.

I used Distress Oxide Black soot to stamp out the images.  I find this always works perfectly for me with the solid stamps, so I am sticking with it!  The sentiments were stamped with Versafine.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Dolphins-Palm Silhouette, Pier Silhouette stamp, Tiny Flying Birds stamp, Gina K Designs Inspiration Mosaic set, Versafine Onyx Black, Distress Oxide inks Abandoned Coral, Fosilized Amber, Salty Ocean, Broken China, Worn Lipstick, Black Soot, cardstocks from my stash, Cuttlebug Decorative Frames embossing folder.

If you have time, I hope you will send some cards, or a monetary donation to support this charitable drive!  Remember to sign them on the inside and send an envelope!  Cards are due April 30, 2018

Spring Flowers Challenge - Violet Botanical

Hello and Happy Easter!  Today I have a card to share for Just for Fun’s April challenge.  The theme is Spring Flowers!

In the spring, I start to think about gardening, and I especially like the flowers that grow all on their own in my yard, like these little violets.  The image was stamped in dark brown and colored with pencils.  The ivory panel was also stamped with flowers in a light beige ink.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Violet Botanical, Flora and Fauna unmounted sheet, Thank You stamp, Gina K Dark Chocolate ink, Hero Arts Soft Sand Ink, cardstock from my stash.

I hope you will hop on over to the JFF blog to participate this month!  You can play along, and be eligible to win a gift certificate to the JFF store, even if you don’t use JFF stamps!
