Finger Painting with Distress Paints

Power Poppy has this challenge going on called, "Color Outside the Lines," but Marcella left that open to interpretation.  I think I took it as license to try something very different.

I stamped a flower from my set that I don't think had seen ink before, then I started dabbing a little Distress Paint on them and rubbing it all around with my fingers.  I will admit, at first I really just applied too much and it looked overdone, but once I got the hint that I should use less, I really liked the results.  I then trimmed my favorite three flowers out and (with my fingers again) applied some Inka Gold around the edges and to the center with a brush.

Supplies:  Power Poppy Simply Camelias Stamp set, Archival Jet Black ink, Distress Paints in Spun Sugar and Fired Brick, Inka Gold, Vellum and papers from my stash, Versamark Ink and Recollections White Detail embossing powder, Spellbinders Fantastic Flourish One die

Fall Leaves and Paint Splatter Background

Update (9/27/16) I was really tickled this morning when I saw that my paint splattered background earned me a spot in the Top 3 over at the ModSquad Challenge blog this week! Thank you so much for featuring my card!

Hello! Today I have a fun fall card that I hope you will like.

The background was made with a toothbrush and Iridescent Pearl acrylic paint.  I just like the subtle shine against the kraft cardstock.  I stamped the leaves and cut them out before applying distress inks.

I used the same three colors of distress ink to sponge around the three pieces of patterned paper - a different one on each piece.

Supplies: Hero Arts engraved leaf stamp (unknown set name), Distress ink Fired Brick, Mustard Seed and Peeled Paint, Archival Jet Black ink, K&Company Tim Coffey Fall Mat Pad, Kraft cardstock, Golden Fluid Acrylic Iridescent Pearl paint.

Home Sweet Tent

Hello and Happy First Day of Autumn!  I have a fun card to share today as the weather is becoming very nice for a campfire in the evenings.

The stamping was pretty easy and fun.  I stamped mostly on colored cardstock and then cut out each image and sponged the edges with Tea Dye Distress ink.

The background was also done using Distress inks, starting with a little and then adding a lot to the textured paper.  I then just arranged the scene and added the image banner.

Supplies:  Stampin Up Roughing It stamp set, Sentiment stamp from I Brake For Stamps, Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks Olive Pastel, Chestnut Roan, Warm Red, Tangerine, Yellow Ochre, Versafine Majestic Blue ink, Distress ink Tea Dye, Wild Honey, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot and Peeled Paint

Playing Piano card...

I was not a pianist when I was growing up, but I did love growing up with a piano in the house.  This little girl must be giving a recital as she is all dressed up nicely!

I stamped onto watercolor cardstock and then colored with watercolor pencils and blended with water.   I hadn't used those pencils in a while and I forgot how much I enjoy using them!

The little sentiment is taken from the same paper pack as the patterned paper and tag.  I used a sketch to pull all this together!  I added a center to the little prima flowers with Liquid Pearls.

Supplies: Deep Red stamps Piano Solo, Archival Jet Black ink, Canson watercolor paper, Simple Stories Summer Fresh 6x6 paper pad, flowers and cardstock from my stash, Liquid Pearls bisque.

"A Little Bit Country" Christmas Card

Hello and I hope everyone is having a great day!  I have the windows open so I can enjoy the weather while cardmaking.  I have an easy peasy Christmas card to share today.  It turned out to look a "little bit country." I think it is just right!

I stamped right on some textured paper with die ink.  Then I just focused on arranging some bits and pieces from a patterned paper pack that I love -- but really need to just use up!  I shaped the little banners and the tag with my fingers.

Fall Leaves

Hello and thanks you for visiting!  I think today is the day that I am ready for fall.  It was cool enough to take a little run (I need to slowly get back into that groove!) and I may just dig out the autumn decor.

Here is a fun fall card I made this morning:

I repeatedly stamped the little branch from my stamp set and added leaves in fall colors.  I love that I can use whatever colors I like.  I die cut portions and then arranged them so that (I think) it looks like my stamp might have been larger to begin with, like a tree top.

I added the greeting and then couldn't resist stamping more little leaves. Have I mentioned before how much I love stamping with the tiny stamps!

Supplies: Gina K Designs Autumm Blessings mini stamp set, Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks in Chestnut Roan, Olive Pastel, Tangerine and Yellow Ochre, DieNamics Pierced Square dies, Darice woodgrain embossing folder, Kraft and white card stocks from my stash.

Coral and Navy Embossed Card

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone is in the swing of things now for the Fall season.  I *think* we have mostly adjusted to new schedules and routines.

Here is the card I wanted to share today.

I was looking to have a clean and simple layout for this card, but use lots of embossing to make it classy and interesting.  I love the navy and coral color combination. The flower was stamped in Lipstick ink and then I added some shading with a spectrum noir marker.

Supplies:  Gina K Designs Hello Friend and One in a Million stamp sets, GKD Lipstick ink pad, Spectrum Noir PP3 alcohol marker, Cuttlebug Embossing folders Swiss Dots and Decorative Tiles, GKD Navy cardstock.
