Flower of the Month - November Chrysanthemum

Hello everyone!  I nearly didn’t finish my Flower of the Month card in time!  The flower for November is the Chrysanthemum.  I am using this Asian style stamp today.  I like it a lot AND the shape of this flower reminds me of some of the flowers that were in the arrangements at my wedding, so lovely memories there too.

I colored the stamp with pencils, then trimmed it out with scissors. I did this at my stamp group the other day and believe it or not, I had forgotten my scissors again. I borrowed some from one of the other ladies.  It is funny, it felt weird to be using another brand and I was not as fast as usual.

Anyhow....  When I got home I used some Versamark ink to stamp the bamboo background over green cardstock and die cut that out.  I hemmed and hawed a lot about adding a sentiment, but I decided I would rather use the room to add lots of embellishments with the ribbon and gems.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Asian Spider Mum and Bamboo background stamps, Versafine Black ink, Versamark ink, Gina K Dark Sage cardstock, Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangles dies, other items from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Bandana Card

Howdy, stamping friends!  Today, I created a card as a sample for the Free for All Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers - A Western Cowboy/Cowgirl theme.  My very first thought for Cowboy was a bandana, and I have the perfect stamp for this.

Everything here is stamped, no patterned paper or embellishments.  I stamped the bandana over red cardstock and added details with my white gel pen.  I planned to cut it up and create a layout with this, but I just couldn’t cut it up!  So, instead, I matted it, added my sentiment and a little stamped flower.

Supplies:  Stampendous Bandana background stamp, Power Poppy Folk Heart stamp set (sentiment and flower), Versamark black ink, Memento Black ink, alcohol markers, Signo white gel pen, other items from my stash.

Thank you for your visit and all your kind comments.  I really enjoy reading each one!  See you soon!

Snowman with Friends Christmas Card

Hello!  I hope you are well!  I have a cute snowman card I would like to share today.

This card was created with a few layers, all starting from plain cardstock and watercolor paper.  First, the blue background is a watercolor wash.  I stamped the image on this bottom layer first.  Then I stamped it again on plain white cardstock, colored the image and fussy cut out a portion of the image to paper-piece over the blue watercolor wash.  I added Wink of Stella glitter all over the snowy hill.

The frame is watercolor paper with distress inks (blues, purple, black) sponged on and then perfect pearls + water flicked onto it.  I die cut the frame.

Supplies: I Brake for Stamps Snowman and Friends, Memento black ink, alcohol markers, Wink of Stella, Distress inks in Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot, Dusty Concord, Perfect Pearls, Watercolor paper, Koi Pan watercolors, Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangle dies.

Mistletoe Wishes Christmas Cards

Hello!  Hope you had a lovely holiday weekend.  Ours was relaxing in one way, but also we did some painting (so much more to do of that!) and put up the Christmas tree and lights, and all sorts of things we don’t typically have time for.  I am so glad we didn’t have to travel this year.

I am sharing a couple cards I made from a kit!  This is the first card kit I have ever done, and I am happy with the results.  Each of these cards was done 6 times, for a total of 12 cards.  I also used some of the stamps from the set for other cards I have already shared.

Supplies: Close to My Heart Mistletoe Wishes Card kit, Versafine Black ink, Avery Elle Cherry pigment ink, Versamark ink, Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder, Spellbinders circle dies.

I would love to share these with the Rudolph Days November Challenge. I am so pleased to have been able to participate in this challenge each month this year!

Thanks for your visit and all your kind comments!!

Autumn Bounty Card

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers. I know that my Canadian readers already celebrated.  This year my family is not traveling, we are volunteering for the very large church charity dinner.  I baked ahead for it, and we will be serving members of our community.  I have many memories of Happy Thanksgivings and hope to help others also have a good memory this year.

I wonder if your kitchen looks something like this today?  I love this image showcasing Autumn Bounty.  I added color with pencils, then matted it in black.  I found some neutral patterned paper to create a simple layout, then added a die cut sentiment in black.  I lost the little dot for the i, so I added that in the form of a Nuvo dot.

Happy Thanksgiving Turkey Card

Hello everyone!  I have been very busy baking up a storm today.  I am baking for the charity dinner as well as for my family.  However, the real star of the show is the turkey.

I colored the *new* Wild Turkey stamp with pencils. It was fun to decide what colors and patterns to use in the feathers.  I then layered some die cuts over my pumpkin patterned paper and added the sentiment and a few gems.

Hope you have time for stamping during this busy holiday season!

Northern Lights Background

Hello everyone! Hope you’re doing well today!  It is supposed to snow a little bit here today, so these polar bears will feel right at home.

I heat embossed the trees onto watercolor paper with white embossing powder. I wanted the sky to mimic the aurora borealis, or Northern Lights.  I used sponges to add Distress inks in mint green, purple and dark blue.  I sprayed the panel with water to allow the colors to blend.  Once dry, I used a glitter gel pen to add some stars, and gems just to be festive.

I simply stamped the Polar bears, added a few shadows with a grey copic marker and trimmed them out to add under the sky.  I think they are enjoying the view!

Supplies: I Brake for Stamps Trees Background stamp, Mama and Baby Polar Bears stamp, Versamark ink, Recollections White detail embossing powder, Memento Black ink, Distress ink in Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord, Distress Oxide ink Cracked Pistachio, Sakura glitter pen, other items from my stash

Sweater Weather - A Wintery Card using Distress Inks

Hello everyone!  It is another bright, sunny day here, but there is a chill in the air.  I have a wintery card to share today.

I first created a background with Distress inks which I smooshed on my craft mat and added water. I used Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves and Faded Jeans and I smooshed my paper into the pool of ink, drying in between layers. I had a scrap of card in my pile, which I think was mixed media paper, so it gave a different look than I would have gotten with watercolor paper.

I then stamped the Trees Background stamp over this with black Versafine Ink.  Finally, I cut a strip of white vellum and added a glitter sticker sentiment over top.

Clean & Simple Stamptangle Oak Leaf

Hello!  Hope you are all well today.  The sun is finally shining again and I can better appreciate the gorgeous fall color.  Our autumn color is a few weeks late this year, so it is really colorful outside, although I fear that when all the leaves fall and it is time to rake, it will be very cold.  We shall see!

I have a clean and simple design to share today. I heat embossed my Stamptangle Leaf in gold, and then sponged over Distress inks.  I first tried Distress Oxides, but the color was not bright enough with the oxidation clouding over it, so I went with regular Distress Inks.

I used a wood grain embossing folder on my white card and then cut a circle in some textured brown cardstock in my stash.  The greeting (which is so cute, don’t you think?) and a little twine bow and my card was done.  This design was one of my quicker cards to make!  Bonus!

I’d love to enter Cute Card Thursday’s Anything Goes challenge as well as Word Art Wednesday’s Anything Goes Challenge.

Supplies:  Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Stamptangle Oak leaf, Happy Autumn, Versamark ink, Recollections Gold Detail Embossing powder, Distress Inks in Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint, Versafine Vintage Sepia (for sentiment), Darice Woodgrain embossing folder, circle die and other items from my stash.

Thank you for your visit today! Special thanks to those of you that comment and follow my blog. I have a sick kid at home, but hope to be around to visit you all later on today.

Sea To It!

Hello and Happy November!  Can you believe it?  Time flies... but turtles swim.

I colored the turtle with alcohol markers and trimmed it out.  I attached a little cupcake charm under his flipper with a brad, so it can turn and move freely.  I decided to use some fun water themed patterned paper for the background and stamped the sentiment right on it.  I used fun dots repeated both in the card front and the ribbon.

Supplies:  I Brake for Stamps Turtle set, Memento and Versafine Black inks, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Echo Park A Perfect SUmmer 6x6 patterned paper pad, Cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder, Studio G charms, MFT Die Namics Pierced Squares dies, other items from my stash
