Masculine Card for CraftyHazelnut’s Patterned Paper November challenge

Hello!  I am sharing today for CraftyHazelnut’s Patterned Paper challenge!  The November challenge is here, and it is always Anything Goes with Patterned paper!  I love the extra push to work through my stash, and every month, Hazel offers a prize!

This month, I went with a masculine look.  I pulled the turquoise and brown out of the patterned paper to use with my stamped panel.  This was a card for my son, who is very outdoorsy! Since I was giving it in person, I could add the button for embellishment.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber stamps Framed Maple Leaf (also in Flora and Fauna set), Sentiment from Unmounted set 1, Gina K Dark Chocolate Ink, My Mind’s Eye Happy Camper 6x6 Paper pad, Sizzix Dotted Rectangles dies, other supplies from my stash.

Tweet! Chirp! Card project

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  October sure has flown by.  I wanted to participate in a color challenge, but the colors were clearly Halloween inspired, and I wasn’t planning on making any more Halloween cards.  (The colors were purple, orange, yellow and black.)  So I tried a few things and finally came up with this card.

The birds were colored with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with the blender pencil. I added little dots to them with a gel pen.  I happened to find this patterned paper that mostly went along with the color combo, so I used it to jazz up the background.

Supplies: Ranger Little Birdies stamp set, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Prismacolor pencils, MFT Die Namics Pierced Squares die, Love Nicole Aquarelle 6x6 Paper pad, embellishments from my stash.

I would love to play along with the SplitCoast Stampers Color Challenges CC658, SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

A Little Gift for You Card

Hello!  Today I have a quick card share again using my Cling Wrap Stamping technique which is perfect for adding great texture to these gift bags (I explain the technique in this post and this video). I sometimes think that purple is a tough color to use, but when I use it, I tend to use all purple.

Supplies: Gina K Designs Art from the Heart stamp set, Wild Lilac ink, Versafine Imperial Purple ink (for sentiment), Nuvo Crystal Drops, all paper from my stash.

Cling Wrap Stamping Technique & Video

I am really going out on a limb to try new things (and am very nervous) today to give YouTube a try.  This is all new to me, but you've got to start somewhere!

I recently had an idea for a stamping technique to create a cool, distressed look with any of your silhouette stamps.  I am loving how it turns out, and how much fun I have when I do this technique, so I wanted to share it with everyone.  It is really fast, easy and best of all, does not involve any special supplies.  I call it Cling Wrap Stamping.

(Watch here or in HD at Youtube.)

Notes about this technique:
  • I was able to get good results using every ink I tried (chalk, dye, pigment, oxide, etc),  so chances are, you have an inkpad that will work.
  • If you are worried your ink may dry out on your stamps before you get it stamped, just huff on it (breathe hot air) to re-wet the ink, and then stamp.
  • I got great results with both rubber and clear stamps!
  • Your results will look a little different every time and that is part of the fun!

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Haunted House Silhouette, Witch with Broom Silhouette, Sentiment set 1, Just Flyin By sentiment, Distress Ink Black Soot, Kaleidacolor Berry Blaze Ink, Gina Marie Designs square dies, MFT Pierced Square dies, DCWV Citrus Stack papers, American Crafts Pumpkin Patch 6x6 paper pad, Gina K Designs Made with Love 6x6 paper pad

A Little Birdie Told me...

Hello!  Thanks for visiting my blog. I mixed and matched stamp manufacturers today to make a fun birdie card.  I stamped the hat first and then masked it off before stamping the bird.  I then colored those with pencils and added a shadow at the bottom.

The sentiment starts with, "A Little Birdie told me..." and then on the inside, I found stamps that said, "It's Your Special Day! Happy Birthday to You!"

Supplies: Purple Onion Designs Hat, Ranger Scribbly Birds, Hero Arts Clear Design June stamp set, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Prismacolor Pencils, Gina Marie X Stitched Rectangles dies, My Mind's Eye Hootenanny 6x6 Paper pad, gems from my stash

I hope you enjoyed your visit!  I am working on something a little bit special today for my JFF post tomorrow.  Wish me luck!  Have a great day!

Puppy Love Card

Hello!  Thanks for visiting my blog today.  I pulled together this card quickly last night for my niece, who reportedly recently became enamored (possibly obsessed) with puppies.  I would have given her a puppy for her birthday if I thought it would have been even remotely okay with her parents!  Second best, a puppy card!

I already had this Purple Onion doggy colored with watercolor pencils from a while ago.  I cut him out with a die.  I used a new background stamp from Hero Arts to stamp the background and then dug through my scraps box.  I found this piece of embossed pink paper already in there!  I finished off the card with my favorite sentiment for kids, from Lawn Fawn, because it is a nice, bold (and most importantly) PRINTED sentiment.

Supplies:  Purple Onion Designs Puddles dog stamp, Hero Arts Amore Background stamp, Lawn Fawn Year Two stamp set, Darice Heart Embossing Folder, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Hero Arts Raspberry Ink, Derwent Watercolor pencils, EK Success scalloped edge punch, Gina Marie X Stitched circle dies.

I would love to play along with A Blog Named Hero's  Calling All Critters challenge, as well as Word Art Wednesday's Anything Goes and Pixie's Snippets Playground - Weeks 301 - 302.

Hope you have a great day!

Fun with Googly Eyes & Halloween Cards

Hello!  I recently took a trip to the craft store and bought some googly eyes!  I got the ones that do not have adhesive on them because they were so much cheaper!  I had an idea on how to use them for Halloween cards.  Are they creepy?  Cute?  Both?

I used a couple of jar stamps and filled them up.  I had also gotten a pack of spider stickers and just used a ruler to draw a straight line down to depict his web.  The first card was so fun to make that I went ahead and did another!

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Canning Jar, large and small, Canning Jar Lid, Sentiment set 1,   Archival Black ink, American Crafts Pumpkin Patch 6x6 Paper pad, Googly eyes, Sandy Lion Essentials Stickers, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Decorative Tiles embossing folders, card stock from my stash

Thanks for stopping by!  I truly appreciate every visit, comment and follower! I hope you have time for crafting today!

Halloween Challenge

You might have guessed it - Just for Fun's October Challenge is all about Halloween!  Just a reminder that you do NOT need to used JFF stamps to enter, so I hope to see your creations linked up!  There is a random draw for a prize!

I used a stamp from the new release that I think is super cute.  As I was coloring it, I was having fun with color combinations, so I made two cards.

I added accents with glitter glue, I hope you can see some of the shine in the photos, but of course, they do look so sparkley in person.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Witches Magic, Sentiment Sheet 1, Versafine Onyx Black ink, American Crafts Pumpkin Patch 6x6 paper pad, EK Success Postage edge punch, stickles glitter glue gold and white, Prismacolor pencils

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope to see you again soon!
