Christmas One-Sheet Wonder: Part 2

Hello and I hope everyone had a good weekend.  Yesterday was supposed to be “Take a Hike” day so we did take a short hike in the afternoon, even though it was pretty cold!

I really like the ski chalet image!

The paper I used is foiled and is always a bit tricky to photograph, but I love using it on holiday cards.  I didn’t even use all the images in the stamp set yet, so I look forward to making more cards with this set.

Christmas Plaid - Handmade Holiday Card

Hello!  A quick share of a card I made this morning from my Recollections Christmas Plaid paper pad. I had been itching to use this pretty blue plaid.  And look how perfectly it went with this offset square from the sketch!

Cardmaking with beginners

Hello everyone!  Last weekend, I had planned a cardmaking session with a few of my close friends.  None of them do papercraft, so I had to think about what projects to set up.  I think it is a good idea to have specific projects ready that you can change the sentiment on easily, so they can use the card for what they need.  

For one of the cards, I chose for us to CASE (copy and steal everything) this card I saw on Pinterest.  I have the stamp set for this, and it has a few options for sentiments.  I did not have the die, but it was easy enough to cut around it.  

To prepare, I had all the card bases cut, the square panel and mat cut, and had a few paper pads and embossing folders to choose from, and a navy inkpad ready.  I think it is better to limit the number of options, as I have found that people can spend more time looking through your stash and then don’t get their card done.

Here is the card I made.  I omitted that button so that I could easily send it.  My friend’s was a lovely Father’s Day card, and she definitely put her own creative spin on it!

Credit Card Swipe Technique with Distress Oxides

Hello! In my craft group, we were challenge to use the Credit Card Swipe Technique to make some backgrounds and then make a card to swap.  

I used three colors of Distress Oxide ink for my background - Squeezed Lemonade, Faded Jeans and Cracked Pistachio.  I smooshed them onto the craft sheet, then spritzed with a touch of water.  You try to scrape up some of the color onto an old credit card and then swipe it over the paper again and again.  I used regular cardstock.  

I do wish I got some wider areas of color, but this one turned out well enough, especially after you stamp a silhouette stamp over it.  This stamp is all in one, although it looks like it could be several stamps.

Classic Clean and Simple Snowman Card

Hello! I hope you are feeling the joy of the season.  I am sharing what is probably my last Christmas card this year.  Although I may copy it if I need to make any last minute cards.   This clean and simple card design would be easy to duplicate if you still need to make a few more cards this year. If not, why not use this idea for next year’s card?

  I make Christmas cards all year so I don’t get into such a time crunch, but even when I am done sending out cards, I will still make more in December when I am feeling that Holiday Spirit!

I stamped the Framed Snowflake with pool colored ink.  I then quickly outlined the snowflake with a glitter gel pen.   I then stamped and cut out the super cute Classic Snowman and added a little color here and there with water based markers and more glitter pen.  Since the snowman stamp already has a sentiment, that also saved time!

Santa’s Hat - Crayon Resist Card

Hello!  Hope you’re doing well this December.  I am not making quite as much this month, but I do have a few things left to share this year.  

A stamping friend challenged our group to make backgrounds with Crayon, and this card using one of those backgrounds. I scribbled Red, Green and White crayons on white cardstock, then applied black dye ink over top and the crayon resisted the black ink.  It may not use fancy products but, gosh, these are fun to make!   

I die cut a portion of the background, and then used a birthday hat die to cut a Santa hat, adding flocking to the white portions.  Not much stamping on this card, but it was really fun to make!

Bandana Card

Howdy, stamping friends!  Today, I created a card as a sample for the Free for All Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers - A Western Cowboy/Cowgirl theme.  My very first thought for Cowboy was a bandana, and I have the perfect stamp for this. 

Everything here is stamped, no patterned paper or embellishments.  I stamped the bandana over red cardstock and added details with my white gel pen.  I planned to cut it up and create a layout with this, but I just couldn’t cut it up!  So, instead, I matted it, added my sentiment and a little stamped flower.  

Supplies:  Stampendous Bandana background stamp, Power Poppy Folk Heart stamp set (sentiment and flower), Versamark black ink, Memento Black ink, alcohol markers, Signo white gel pen, other items from my stash.

Ducklings Easter Card - EASY and cute

Hello!  Easter is just around the corner?  Are you sending cards this year?  Here are two easy card designs I want to share with limited supplies - stamps, ink, paper, a paper cutter and glue.

I stamped the ducks onto light yellow cardstock and staggered the stamp as I created rows of ducks.   For the first card, I used a bold striped patterned paper for my background, and framed out my ducks in the center. The sentiment was added on white cardstock.

For the second card, I used the entire stamped card panel, and just added the leftover strip of the striped paper on the side.  I added a very old brad from my stash near the sentiment to draw your eye right to the greeting.

Summer Camp Cards

Hello, I hope you are having a great day!

The cards I am sharing today I will need very soon for summer camp!  I figure out how many days it takes for a card to get to the camp and then I send them ahead so that DS will hopefully get one each day.  I used some super stamps from the JFF's Camping Theme that I bought specifically for this purpose.

I first cut a window into patterned paper.  I stamped my images and simply filled in color with some markers.  For this first card I stamped over top of the image in light beige ink with a tattered screen background stamp.  The sentiment was stamped on kraft cardstock and trimmed out.  

The second card is just a variation of the first.  I trimmed around the image so that the leaves would go outside the frame.  I also used the campfire as a little embellishment.  These were not difficult to make at all and themed cards can be so much fun!

Hello!  Hope you are well today! I am back with another Valentine.  By this time, I have sworn solemnly that I will start earlier next year on my Valentines!

This one was super easy to do once I had worked out what stamps to use.  They are from several different sets, and I am not sure what set the little heart is from!  The inside was fun enough for me to take a photo.

And I am including this close up just because it shows that heart sequin is actually red!

Valentine and Heart Themed Cards

The last couple weeks, I have been more productive in my cardmaking!  I am happy you are here today to take a look at a few of my recent cards.  I need to get my Valentines in the mail today!

This card was colored with pencils and gamsol. It is sweet and traditional.

The next couple is much more wild and crazy!  They were colored with water-based markers.

Finally, the other stamp in this set is sooo sweet, but instead of making another Valentine, I made this one a birthday card.  I think either of these stamps would make a good kid birthday card.  The paper was sprayed with Color Shine before stamping the panda. I then paper pieced him.

Sweet Pumpkin Patch

Hello and thanks for stopping by!  Today I am blogging for Just For Fun Rubber Stamps again, and I have a fun stamp and card to share with you.  

When I was making this card, I wasn't sure if I wanted to use it for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or just general autumn greetings.  I love that I can use it for any of those that I choose.  

I simply stamped this sweet pumpkin patch image and colored with alcohol markers.  I layered it over some die cuts, using pretty fall patterned paper to enhance my stamp.  I really like how it turned out!  (You might have seen that I used this same stamp in a different way on the owl Halloween card posted here.)

"A Little Bit Country" Christmas Card

Hello and I hope everyone is having a great day!  I have the windows open so I can enjoy the weather while cardmaking.  I have an easy peasy Christmas card to share today.  It turned out to look a "little bit country." I think it is just right!

I stamped right on some textured paper with die ink.  Then I just focused on arranging some bits and pieces from a patterned paper pack that I love -- but really need to just use up!  I shaped the little banners and the tag with my fingers.

One-Layer Stamped Floral card

Welcome and thanks for stopping by.

Today I am sharing this easy one-layer card!  It really came together quickly - about 10 minutes.  

First, I stamped the sentiment.  Then I used my ruler to draw a line on either side.  Post-it notes were used to mask off the sentiment strip, and then I just used some pretty flower stamps from Gina K to fill in most of the card.  

I did use the rock-n-roll stamping technique on the leaves and the blue flowers.

I did make a second card, too, but it refused to play along with the photographing process. I liked the colors in it, though.

Christmas Joy - Easy Christmas card

Hello and Happy Monday!

Today I have as easy Christmas card idea to share!  Sadly, the photo does not do the sparkle embossing powder any justice.  Sparkle Embossing Powder is my most used embossing powder!  The jar is actually half empty.

I also used generation stamping with the snowflakes after noticing they were too bold stamped first generation.

Clean & Simple with Rubber Stamp Tapestry

Hello!  I hope you are doing well. :)

Today I have another card to share using the same little peg stamps I used just the other day.  I started wondering if A) I would be able to use them in a more clean and simple way, and B) Could I follow a sketch?

I really had to hold back because it is really just so easy to keep stamping and stamping.  Here's just another view (it is hard to post just one photo...)

When I have a little time, I want to make a set of these in different colors to send as a gift.

Cherry Blossom card with Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

I recently made a purchase from an older stamp company, Rubber Stamp Tapestry, but I have been playing around with them so much they are a new favorite for me.  Their peg stamp sets looked so fun and easy to work with.  

I really enjoyed making this card. You get to stamp so much, use lot of colors, and it was fun to create my frame and some matching patterned paper for a mat.  I think this design is timeless and classy.

I think you will be seeing more cards from me using these tiny stamps.  What I am most looking forward to is using these when my friends (who are stamping beginners) come over to make cards, since I know they will be able to get great results with these.

Gina K Designs Folk Filigree - Easy Stamped Card

Happy Wednesday, hope you are doing well!  It is sunny and warm today and I saw that I have one white crocus blooming.  I need to replant some crocuses and snowdrops since the moles, or some creature in nature, has eaten most of them up, but what I have is cheerful!

I have been stamping quite a bit this week and have one project to share.  Sometimes, I really like to use small stamps to create a project because I feel like it is taking me back to stamping roots, where you just have stamps and ink and a folded card. 

Simple and fun!

  I really just do enjoy stamping, so I don't even mind that I had to practice a layout or two before doing the final card.  Imperfect score lines were quickly done on a scoring board with a bone folder.

A tip, I did get some very small smudges of ink where they shouldn't be.  After it had all dried (since these are pigment inks) I took my Prismacolor Magic Rub white eraser over it and, by golly, it actually took up the extra ink!  I was very pleased.
