World Cardmaking Day - Cooking Card Three-fer - My Work Desk

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

This weekend we actually do not have too much planned, so I have some time for crafting.  It is a glorious autumn day, so after purchasing some popcorn from a cute little Cub Scout we know, we went to a park and took a little walk.

Now that we are home, I cleaned up my stamping desk a little. Joy Clair challenged us to show off your craft workspace. I never have shown mine.  My desk is a repurposed player piano.  It was supposed to be a family heirloom, but it was, in fact, a clunker!  So I gifted the ivory keys to my brother-in-law (he sometimes repairs pianos), and DH tore out the rest and put in shelves.

You can see that it never is actually clean.  I put out a few stamp sets that are NBUS (never-before-used-stuff).  In fact, cleaning and organizing is basically the only way to resist the urge to buy things in all the sales today!

Maybe one day I will give a better tour of my craft area.

Anyhow, here is a card set I finished up.  I had a background stamp from Technique Junkies that I thought looked like kitchen wallpaper.  And I paired this with a Penny Black cooking stamp set that I also hadn’t used yet.  I used all pigment inks here.  The kraft ink got washed out in the photos, but it is lovely too.

The inside of this last card has a sentiment that says, “Hope you’re cooking up something fun!”  You can see this set has fun sentiments!

I would love to enter Joy Clair’s My Crafty Workspace challenge and SimonSaysStamp’s World Cardmaking Challenge.

Supplies: Technique Junkies Folk Art background stamps, Penny Black Spice of Life stamp set, Avery Elle and Versafine inkpads, Gina Marie X Stitched circle dies, other items from my stash.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you see what you are up to today!

Heidi what a cool desk structure! And adorable trio of cards! And thank you for the tip of pulling out NBUS stamps and supplies. I usually live that way but sometimes its easy to use the same old stuff. And I have so much crap I could use something "new" to me every day til I die and I'm sure you could too! LOLOL Happy weekend! xoxo

Love your repurposed piano desk! That has to be the most unique stamping desk ever!!! Much more character than something new. My desk is an old teacher desk which means all the drawers are on my side, but there's space for a friend (student) on the other side. A great find at a thrift store. :)'

Also love all the cards you post -- please keep them coming. The amount of pretty cards you make is truly inspiring!
