Hello stamping friends! I don’t know about you, but I tend to hoard beautiful patterned papers, but I am trying to reform myself!
Today I have a card design that uses a lot of patterned paper to give the look of mixed media, without the work. I used Pam Bray’s Cyan Consortium papers. Basically, I used a lot of scraps cut off from making A2 card fronts. I then just glued them together in a card base and sponged tan ink around the edge. I cut an oval die from another card scrap.
I simply heat embossed the lovely dragonfly stamp from the Fall Rubber Stamp set, also by Pam Bray, over a very light green vellum. On the inside, I stamped the same dragonfly in light tan ink, and stamped the sentiment over top.
I hope you are inspired to use more patterned paper! Have a wonderful day!

Like you, I also have tons of pretty paper that I am afraid to use! The way you used your scraps here is a great idea and looks great!
This card is outstanding, Heidi. I love the mixed media look, and of course I just love dragonflies. This one is really cool. I'm like you: a hoarder of patterned paper. Always have been.
These papers are so pretty together and I love the mixed media look!
I agree, I always have leftover papers that I use on my card fronts, I love how you embossed your dragonfly on the vellum!
Great way to use up those papers and what amazing papers they are...Striking and beautiful card x.
A beautiful card Heidi, I love the background and the gorgeous dragonfly, beautifully designed too, Kate x
