Autumn Covered Bridge Card

Happy October, everyone!  Although it is supposed to be a record high today, October usually has the nicest weather.  I was imagining a cool day when I colored this pretty covered bridge scene.  I colored it to look like a covered bridge we traveled through in Ohio each summer when I was a kid, on our way to our vacation.  It was always so exciting to drive through it!

For whatever reason, I had my mind set on using an oval die for this image, and it did work out nicely.  I added die cut leaf accents, sponged with tea dye distress ink, and paired it with a old, hoarded pieced of plaid cardstock.  I love this plaid.  The finishing touch was some gold stickles.

I left the sentiment off so I can use it for whatever occasion comes up this fall.

Supplies: I Brake for Stamps Covered Bridge, Memento Black ink, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, My Mind’s Eye Darling Deer 6x6 paper pad, Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped oval dies, Spellbinders leaf dies, Gold Stickles, other items from my stash.

Thank you for visiting today!  How is your October weather today?

Your covered bridge is such a stunning image and you've really captured Fall with the tree colors! There is a bridge..well probably several like this around where I live and it's always so pretty around this time of the year! Gorgeous card design with your papers and die cut leaves! :)

Lovely card, covered bridges seem mandatory during the fall. IT was 95 down here today. Ugh.

Love your covered bridge and your adding of the leaves around it to frame it, that paper does work perfectly for it :) I love covered bridges too, have you done the ones in Indiana?

I love old covered bridges I remember when I was little and my grandmother drove us all over Pennsylvania to spend a day out and coming upon a covered bridge that we drove over on our way one day. Wonderful feeling and it too was in Autumn.

Wonderful card and you bring the nostalgia back to us. So glad you joined us at Die Cut Divas.

Oh yeah, love a good covered bridge! Such a fab Fall card! Gorgeousness! And that plaid should be hoarded, diagonal pieces are coveted! I have an Artistic Outpost stamp set that has one. I forget that is a great Fall image. Happy Week, Heidi! xoxo
