Flower of the Month - January Snowdrops Card

Hello!  Hope you are having a great weekend!  I have a second card for my Flower of the Month theme.

I saw that Snowdrops are also considered a birth flower for January. I have always loved how the snowdrops come up from the snow in early spring.  Last year, we did have them bloom in February, because it was unusually warm, but typically they come up in March.  So it was a surprise that they are actually a January flower.  Maybe down South?  Or maybe people plant the bulbs indoors to bloom in the winter?

Again, my stamp comes from I Brake for Stamps.  It is my only snowdrop stamp, but I search around and found just a few more that are available.  I stamped it with green Distress Oxide ink onto ivory card.  Then I used a water brush to bring out the color.  The background lattice was stamped with the same ink, but I spritzed the stamp with water before stamping.  I was in the mood for a bright, springy look, so that is why I used the pretty lemon yellow.

Supplies:  I Brake for Stamps Bubble Wrap, Lattice and Flowers stamp set, Distress Oxide Lucky Clover ink, Gina Marie X Stitched Circle Die, DieNamics Pierced Squares dies, Tim Holtz tag dies, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

Wonderful colors and a great layout. Snowdrops are not a flower I am familiar with but I can see they are lovely.

This is so pretty and I have to wonder if I've been living under a rock all my life, because I've never heard of a snowdrop flower until now! It's very pretty and I love the patterns and colors! Great take on the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge and thanks for sharing this card with us too :)

Hi Heidi, a beautiful card showing the pretty snow drop flowers. They tend to be out in July downunder, which is our mid winter. Have a wonderful week... Megan

very pretty design, I didn't know that was the flower for January either. I should look into that and maybe send the cards that match the person's birth month :)

I love your snowdrops, Heidi! Unfortunately I don't have a stamp for them. On to February which will be here way too soon! Can't wait to see your February flowers!
