Hero Arts Cat Stamp - rereleased!

ETA 5/5/19: I was thrilled to be chosen as a Top Pick at the Retro Rubber Challenge!

Hello and hope everyone is having a good start to their week.  It is sunny here, but it was nearly freezing overnight!

Some of you may have seen that Hero Arts is celebrating 45 years in the stamping business!  If you are like me, your very first stamps were theirs!  They recently asked people to share on Instagram photos of their oldest stamps.  This cat one is one of the ones I shared.  It is marked 1985  (although I think I remember getting maybe in 1988).  Anyhow, I then perused their new catalog and saw that this stamp is one that is being re-released in clear form!!! (See page 32 of their catalog.)

So, I had to get this stamp off the shelf and make a card.  I colored it with alcohol markers, then die cut it and sponged blue ink within the die.  I used a sketch from MojoMonday and a paper pad I just picked up the other day.  I did sponge the blue print with blue ink around the edges.  I didn't want to mat those pieces, so the sponging did the finishing without an extra layer.

I paired it with a couple sentiments from other Hero Arts sets.  The inside has the second generation stamping in light pink.

Supplies: Hero Arts Cats on Pillow 1985, CL582 and CL342 clear sentiment sets, Memento and Versafine Black inks, Gina K Innocent Pink ink, Tumbled Glass distress ink, Bo Bunny Early Bird 6x6 paper pad.

I would love to enter Retro Rubber’s Anything Goes Challenge and Mojo Monday #514

Thanks so much for visiting today!!!  What is your oldest stamp?

Oh how adorable this card is Heidi. What a cute stamp. Love the inking and the scalloped/lacy edge of your center panel.

Your two patterned papers go together so nicely and match your beautifully colored image perfectly. How fun to pull out one of your 1st stamps for this card!

Hasn't this walk down memory lane with Hero Arts been fun?! I've seen so many stamps that I "missed" along the way, and this is one of them. What a darling card you've made, beautifully colored! Maybe I'll pull a stamp and use it again, too!

Such an outstanding card, Heidi. I like the blue sponging, something I have been doing lately (not always blue though) as it brings such a warmth to the card. Lovely designer paper, and great colouring. I can't believe you managed to hang onto that stamp for so long. Guess it paid off, eh? This card certainly gives off a wow factor. Oh, almost forgot. I do believe SU's Lovely as a Tree was my first stamps, and that was about 15 years ago. Can you believe I've only used it once?

oh my goodness is that ever adorable, love your coloring, so sweet!! Love the papers you used with it and the way you ghost stamped it on the inside too! Wow your memory is good if you can remember a year you bought your stamp, I am lucky if I can remember what and when I bought something last month, LOL!

Oh my gosh!! how sweet and beautiful is this image and your layout, with the fabulous pattern papers, frames these cozy kitties perfectly.
How awesome that Hero Arts is bringing back images like this one, they should never have been retired.

Oh Heidi I’m getting the warm fuzzies looking at cute plus image, and no! I did not need another stamp. I stayed Stamping in 1990 so you’re a few year ahead of me, was so amazing back then and incredibly hard to find stash! Used a toaster for years to heat emboss, just love this card, wonderful colours.

Hello again Heidi: I just saw that cute stamp as part of a set on page 32 of the new HA catalog, but it doesn't say there when it will be available for purchase so I guess I will have to wait and keep my eye on things till they actually release the stamps.
Thank you again for helping me locate this cute stamp, I sure appreciate it.
Sending hugs.
