Love You Bunches - Stenciled Background Technique

Hello!  In my online stamping group, we do several “fests” each year where we have challenges. It is always a very creative time, and I plan to share some of the cards I create here on my blog too.

One of the challenges was to use this ingenious Stenciling technique by my stamping friend Beth.  She did a nice tutorial here on How to Add Depth to your Stencils.

I used an older Plaid stencil and used 3 Distress Oxide colors and tried to blend them as best I could. I added black pen marks and tried to be consistent as to where the light source would be, although I know I need to work on that.

I simply finished off the card with this cute stamp, colored with markers, and adding some glitter glue  Nuvo drops accents to the bouquet.

I like that I could use this card for Valentines, Birthdays or even a Get well.

I would love to enter Penny Black’s Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes/Optional Love is in the Air challenge, SimonSaysStamp’s Monday Challenge Floral Frenzy.

Supplies: Penny Black Good Day Stamp set, Plaid Stencil, Distress Oxide inks Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, other items from my stash.

Here is the background alone, and the other one I made (a little preview of a card coming up soon!)

Last Minute Card set - One Sheet Wonder

Last weekend, I quickly realized that I didn’t have enough Christmas cards.  I summoned the One-Sheet Wonder to help make my cards.  And as always, I change the layouts as I please, and jazz them up with different themed stamps so they don’t all look the same.

My cut guide came from this blog.  This double sided paper with two smaller prints worked really well!

Stamps:  Penny Black Jolly Friends, Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas, Close to My Heart ‘Tis the Season, Recollections Christmas Noel, Inkadinkado unnamed set, Tim Holtz Holiday Magic, W Plus9 Pretty Patches Trees, Versafine and Memento Black inks. Paper: Stampin Up

Christmas One-Sheet Wonder - Part 1 (Pin It? Try It! Week 9)

Hello!  I realized that, in just a few weeks, it is time to send out Christmas cards!  Even though I already have some I made throughout the year, I am quite short.  I decided to use a One-Sheet Wonder template to make a bunch of cards.

Usually, people use a very simple sentiment stamp when doing a One-Sheet Wonder, but that isn’t my style.  I like to use colored images and I also like to jazz up the card layouts a little.  So I have already cut my piece of 12 x 12 paper via this layout.  (And yes, this is a Pinned It? Try It! Week 9 Post too.)

But, I am taking a little more time to complete my cards so I can put my own twist on them. Here is the first set using some CUTE images from Penny Black.

And, yes, I am lamenting a little that I picked the foiled paper.  But it is so pretty, in real life, even if it is so hard to photograph!

Supplies: Penny Black Jolly Friends, Simon Says Stamps Peaceful Christmas stamp set, Elizabeth Crafts Holiday Cheer stamp set, Memento and Versafine black inks, Recollections Christmas Plaid paper pack, Gina Marie Wonky Stitched Ovals dies, Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies.

I would love to enter these cards in Cute Card Thursday’s Festive challenge, The Daily Marker’s 30 Day coloring challenge and WordArtWednesdsay’s Anything Goes challenge.

Thank you for visiting today!  I’ll be back again soon!

Pumpkin Spice Coffee Card

Hello and Happy Saturday!  This card has been in my brain for a few weeks and this morning I finally had a chance to make it a reality.

I used several different stamp companies to get this design.  The coffee cup was stamped on a Distress Oxide Antique Linen background.  I then stamped a tiny pumpkin over top and colored it.  The Pumpkin was stamped with orange ink on some yellow cardstock and then I added the sentiment over top.

I had some scraps of gold and green cardstock in my box, so I die cut some leaves from it and then arranged it all over my stamped woodgrain background.  All the green cardstock was sponged with some gold ink.

I am really happy with this card and I hope the photo shows the pretty gold details.

Supplies: Just for Fun Stamptangle pumpkin and coffee cup, Hero Arts Woodgrain Background Stamp, Penny Black Spice of Life stamp set, Inkadinkado Creepy Lane stamp set, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Gina K Dark Chocolate and Tangerine inks, Spellbinders Leaves dies, Sizzix Embossing folder, Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink.

I would love to enter The Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop, SimonSaysStamp’s Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes, Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes and Dies R Us Trees and Leaves Challenges.

Thank you for visiting today!  If you are new, I sure hope you will leave a comment so I know you were here.  And please consider subscribing!  I always do my best to visit and see what you are making too.  Have a great weekend!

Peg Stamp Card - Hummingbird Anniversary Card

ETA 6/2/19: I’d like to thank Cupcake Inspirations for choosing my card as one of the Sweet Selects for their challenge!

Hello!  Many of you have been so busy lately with your cardmaking!  I sat down to go through my blog list last evening, and thought it wouldn’t be long as I only missed a day or two.  Well, wasn’t I wrong!  Everyone is being so creative!

Well, we finally have the sun again around here, so I was able to finish and photograph a card.  I had this anniversary stamp set out on my desk still from making this card last week.  Looking at the little hummingbirds on it, and knowing I will soon need a card for my parents, I came up with this idea, adding peg stamps!

I used the peg stamps to create the border along the top.  After that was finished, I added some Nuvo glitter drops here and there. I think you can see them in the photo. I thought they added some festivity to this card, as they really sparkle in the light.

The bird and sentiment were simply stamped with black ink.  I think it turned out cute!

Supplies: Rubber Stamp Tapestry Cherry Blossom stamp set, Penny Black You and Me Stamp set, Avery Elle inks in Kraft, Celery, Raspberry and Pixie, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Gina K Designs Fresh Asparagus cardstock.

I would love to play along with these challenges!
