Hello! I am back with two new cards today. I had some trouble getting back into the swing of things, but I think I will be posting regularly again.
I made this alcohol ink background a couple months ago, but like so many backgrounds, I often have trouble using it right away! Especially when I am happy with the result! So, yesterday, I was determined to make some cards with it.
This background was made with green alcohol inks, silver mixitive over Yupo paper (which is really a thin sheet of smooth plastic.) I also added some silver foil to the parts that were still sticky enough to transfer the foil. I cut my background in two and decided to make two very different cards.
This one is simple, I just stamped and colored some butterflies and folded their wings up to add dimension. This card I would like to add the ModSquadChallenge Three’s Company Challenge.
This second card I wanted to be for Christmas. I added birch tree and cardinal die cuts and embossed the red background with a Christmas Poinsettia folder.
Supplies:
Card 1: Gina K Designs Whimsical Spring stamps set, Purple Onion Designs Sentiment, Memento and Versafine Black inks, Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangles dies, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
Card 2: Impression Obsession Birch tree die set, Purple Onion sentiment, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Sizzix Poinsettia embossing folder, Spellbinders Fancy Edge Rectangle dies
Thanks for stopping by today!

Glad to see that you were able to use these backgrounds, they look amazing on the cards that you have created here today (and look at you go, a Christmas one too)!
These cards are so gorgeous with those pretty backgrounds. I don't have Yupo paper and don't plan to buy any. I have to cut down a bit. By the way I tried to find a way to email you but could not find an addy for you but I wanted you to know that the Sticky Specks I got from Dies R Us.
Sensational cards, Heidi! I'm always looking for ways to use my backgrounds and that birch tree Christmas card is particularly fetching, so thank you for the inspiration!! Hugs, Darnell
Your backgrounds are fantastic on both of these, I especially love your Christmas card. Lovely coloring on those butterflies too!
Love these! The rich greens in your background panels are beautiful and look amazing with both the butterflies and the Christmas design. WOW!
Wowza, what a way to say, "I'm baaaaaaaaaack." These are two stunning cards. Who knew a.i. backgrounds could be so beautiful. Bravo!!
You are such a talented card maker~this is gorgeous!!
Great alcohol ink backgrounds and you don't need much more when they look as amazing as these do x The extra pop of colour on both of your cards is perfect x.
What fabulous backgrounds Heidi, love the patterns the inks have made and the colours too. Beautifully designed with the dies too, Kate x
One of these days you have to do a step by step tutorial on how you get those alcohol inks to do that. I need to know everything, right down to what kind of paper you use. Your cards are so pretty, and I'd like to do some playing with those inks.
WOW!! Your background look amazing and you've done SUCH a beautiful job making them into these cards too! I really like the tree background so much and especially how you've made it a Christmas card too!! Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful cards Heidi. I have to get my ai's out.
These are both absolutely stunning Heidi!! You gave your gorgeous background the perfect details they deserve!!
