I have a pretty pansy card to share with you, which is right in season! I love these cheerful flowers for Spring and Fall, and all the wonderful colors they might be.
This image was stamped in a dark purple ink onto some textured cardstock. Now, textured card is not usually the best surface for stamping, but I knew I wanted to color this with chalks, and I like the extra interest it gives. Chalk is a wonderful coloring medium, it blends so well and is very fast to work with. It might be a good idea to seal your work when you use chalk. Since this is a card that will likely be displayed for just a few weeks, I just seal mine with a little aerosol hairspray.
I thought these colors looked a little vintage, so I decorated my card with some velvet rick rack and scraps of pretty floral paper.
Supplies: I Brake for Stamps Three Pansies, Gina K Designs Edible Eggplant ink, Pebbles Chalks, MFT Die Namics Pierced Squares die, Scrap of paper from Recollections Backyard table 6x6 paper pad, Cuttlebug Gingham embossing folder, other items from my stash.

Love the card and thanks for sharing the technique you used to add color to the card :)
I saw this on SCS and wanted to get a closer look. This is really pretty.
Stamping on that textured card stock really looks impressive! I need to pull my chalks out and use them more often too! The velvet trim looks fantastic!
Wonderful vintage looking card. The rick rack is lovely and I have never seen it in the velvet x. Great texture from the textured card and the dry embossing and such a beautiful card x.
Absolutely gorgeous Heidi, it's a beautiful floral image and design. I love the soft looks you've got with the chalks, marvellous, Kate x
This looks absolutely incredible Heidi!! I think it looks just like a cross stitch piece of artwork! I don't ever think about coloring with chalk, but it's something I'm going to have to try after seeing this design! I just love this!! Thanks for sharing!
I love all the texture on your card, and your chalked image is beautiful!
This is so beautiful...wonderful colors and I love all the texture of it.
Heidi, what a beautiful card! I really love the textured paper you've stamped on, and what beautifully soft colors for the pansies! Stunning layout, and I especially love the rick-rack and the gingham embossing. I love it all, sweet friend! Hugs and love! xoxo
Oh I just love the look that chalking on the textured card stock gives to this, beautifully colored! Love your use of ric rac on the borders and the pretty floral banners!
Darling pansies. I just love them.
Oh Heidi - this is just so pretty! I love pansies - such happy flowers. And you reminded me that it's ages since I touched my chalks. What delicate colouring - and a super tip about hairspray as well!
AND, of course you can join in the Clearly Besotted draw. If you do win then I can order £15 worth of their goodies on your behalf, have them sent to me here in the UK, and then pop them in with the panda stamp set. Happy to do that rather than you miss out on a chance to win. It's up to you - just leave a comment if you do now want to play for the prize(s).
Hugs
Di xx
Heidi, this card is terrific, with so many textures to it. The textured background for your beautiful pansies is gorgeous. Like you, I love pansies and used to grow them when I had a house (now in an apartment). Your rick rack is perfect. I love the embossed white background. Great work my friend.
Gorgeous card, do love pansies and like you say they come in so many cheerful colours to brighten the day. EmmaTx
