Cute Critter Valentines

Hello!  I took a long, needed break from blogging.  But I am going to try to be back on a limited basis.  I quit design teams, they weren’t worth the workload and time to be paid in supplies (if they remember to send you them… another story).

I am interested who is still blogging and what challenges are inspiring and worth entering! Please leave me a comment!

I have these two cute Valentines to share with you today.  They are going to go to my nieces.

I won’t always be posting a full supply list, nor will I usually post links.  Probably 90% of my stash now is retired. If I ever leave a product out that you are interested in, and I didn’t tell you, please leave a comment to let me know and I will figure it out and tell you!

But here is a basic list:

Pink and Main Perfect Blend Stamps and Dies

Bo Bunny Early Bird 6x6 paper pad.

I will also mention the tiny silver sticker I added between the two patterned papers, which isn’t super visible in the photos but is super cute in person.  Those are from Starforms.  My goodness, I didn’t know they were so hard to find now. I purchased a few from an Etsy shop yesterday.  They were made in the Netherlands and I don’t know if they went out of business or just no  one is importing them anymore. They are a great finishing touch for a car though!

Thank you to anyone who is still reading! Have a good day!

No Stamping!!!

Hello!  Today I wanted to make another clean and simple card, but this time, using some patterned paper scraps and ephemera.

I punched out three 1.25 inch squares of patterned paper.  I then cut white cardstock at 4 x 5.25 and embossed it.  This is optional, but I then used my paper scoring tool to scores some lines to be my guide for adding the square patterned paper pieces in a straight line.  It also adds a decorative border.

After that, I just chose something from the coordinating ephemera pack to finish off my card.  Not ever card needs to be difficult!

The paper pack and Ephemera is from Pam Bray’s Masquerade Line.

Easy Valentine LOVE Card Set

Hello from design team member Heidi!

Today I want to share an idea to quickly make 4 elegant Valentines.

First choose 5 patterned papers. I chose ones that have subtle patterns, but this would work with bolder patterns, as well.

Then stamp your LOVE stamp on 4 of these.  Cut the other patterned paper into 4 2.5 inch squares. (If you are using a bold patterned paper, you may wish to white or silver heat emboss the stamp instead.)

Cut out all the letters individually, leaving a slight border.  With a black alcohol marker, create a faux matte around each letter.  (This sounds fussy, but it really doesn’t take much time, especially compared to actually cutting and glueing a black mat.). Also use a colored marker to color in each letter.  I used a dusky purple marker.

Mix up the patterns and arrange the letters on each 2.5 inch square of patterned paper. I highly recommend using liquid glue for this part so that you have time to move the letters around evenly!  Also, matte this on a 2 3/8 inch black cardstock.

I decided to go over the letters with a sakura glitter pen to bring out the letters and make it look more valentiney.

Not just use this as the focal image of your card!  I just embossed some pink cardstock, added some ribbon and some glitter glue to finish this easy cards!  You could finish them in a simpler way or more ornate way, depending on how much time you have!

Here are my finished cards!

This stamp is part of a wedding stamp set in the I Brake for Stamps store:

Patterned Paper Stashbuster Challenge - Part 3 - More Birthday Cards

Hello!  I am back with more cards I made using up my pack of OLD patterned paper.  I have three more cards to share.

I did a little coloring, a little paper piecing (which is a great way to use up scraps and I think I may do a lot of it for this challenge!) and some simple stamping too.  All these are simple layouts but I like how they turned out.

Here is a list of the stamps I used:

Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Birthday (THMB012)

Unity Stamps Life’s Short…Eat cake! Stamp set

Close to My Heart It’s Your Day to Sparkle Stamp set

I would like to link these to Crafty Hazelnut’s Patterned Paper Challenge.

Nesting Birds Card

It’s almost time for nesting season! As an avid birder, I am so excited about this. As soon as the days began getting longer, the birds have started singing their spring songs.

Anyhow, here is a card to celebrate nesting season using a stamp from I Brake for Stamps.  I stamped in brown dye ink over a glossy cardstock that I brayered with a Kaleidacolor inkpad.  This background went so well with the Cyan Consortium paper pack.  However, I wanted to bring in more brown, so I sponged Tea Dye distress ink around all of the pieces.

Please consider using my affiliate code BPMHeidi to save 15% off your order at both the I Brake for Stamps and Blank Page Muse stores.  There is a lot of variety to tempt you, including these items:

Be One With Nature

Hello!  I have another design team post for sister stores Blank Page Muse and I Brake for Stamps.

Today I would like to share a nature themed card.

This card using stamps and a stencil from the Woodlands Stamp and Stencil bundle designed by Donna Gray.  You can use my affiliate code BPMHeidi to save 15% at both stores.

I first stenciled over top of some patterned paper using brown Distress inks.  This piece of 12x12 patterned paper is super duper duper old.  I recently cut it up into card size pieces in an effort to use it up.

Then I stamped my tree right over top. I used all Versafine inks for the stamping here.  I stamped, color and fussy cut out the owl and placed him near the tree. I really like the sentiments in this set. I think a walk in the woods is really great therapy.

I hope you have a wonderful day, less stress, craft more…

Paper Scrap Background

The other day, I was determined to use up this certain patterned paper pack. There were no whole sheets left, most were just 2 inch strips.  I thought of a card I received from my stamping friend April. She blogged about it in March 2019.  If you go to her post Here, you will see I commented there that I was going to try it.  Well, two and a half years later, I have!

The pansy stamp is sadly retired from I Brake for Stamps (but great news, their store has reopened, more on that soon) called Three Pansies. The sentiment is  from Close to my Heart Birthday Parade, paper is Recollections Backyard Table, Distress ink for edging was Picked Raspberry.

Happy August and catch up

Hello everyone. I need to catch up on blogging the 33 Christmas cards I made in the month of July.

These were made with a one sheet wonder I found on this blog: https://pin.it/ntfT2tz .  I had all my Christmas stamps out, so I just then hunted around for ones that looked nice with the layout. I was very happy with how these turned out.

 Thank you for visiting!

Oh Dear, What a Year!

Hello all!  You might have seen these deer images a few times before. When I got this stamp set, I just stamped out and colored a whole sheet worth of images. It was a good way to get a lot of use out of a stamp set, and also to break up the work.

I also used up some scraps of pretty paper here.

And I used a new stamp set from Close to My Heart for the inside sentiments.  There are a bunch of funny ones, but this one is my favorite for 2020.

I am not sure if I will be posting again this year.  I want who wish everyone Happy Holidays, of course a very Merry Christmas, and a much happier New Year!

Blessings,

Heidi
