Gingerbread Ornament Christmas Card

Hi Everyone!!  I am fitting in more Christmas cards this month, making sure I will have plenty in my stash when the time comes.

I colored the image with alcohol markers, adding Wink of Stella glitter to the snowy portions. (You can probably see this in the detail photo.)  I then stamped out the little peppermint candy in pink and mint, hand cut them out and arranged them at the bottom of the image panel.  This layout idea came from Tuesday Morning Sketches #473.

I’m thinking of adding a bow to the top of the ornament, what do you think?

Just for Fun’s October Halloween Challenge!

Hi everyone!  It’s time for another really fun Halloween challenge!  Get out your stamps and make a card to share in Just for Fun’s monthly challenge.

My card uses a classic layout and a fun little focal point with a Distress Oxide background.  I stamped the witch hat twice, sponged two colors of ink on the first, and then colored the hat with markers.  I trimmed that out and popped it up to create dimension.

I hope you will play along!

I thank you for your visit today!  And double thanks to those of you who follow my blog or leave comments!  You are the best!

Fall Sunflower Card

Hello and Happy Friday!  I’m glad you are here for a visit!  I have a fall-inspired card to share today.

I first used a gold texture paste and put that through a stencil onto orange cardstock.  After that dried, I die cut the panel.  I colored my sunflower image, then carefully fussy cut it out. I popped it up over the stenciling and added Nuvo drops to add texture.

Supplies: Gina K Designs Thankful for You, Painted Autumn stamp sets, Memento and Versafine black inks, Heidi Swapp Gold Texture paste, Recollections stencil, Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangles dies, Gina K Tomato Soup cardstock, Nuvo Blizzard glitter drops.

Stunning Lion Face Masculine Birthday Card

Hello! Thanks for visiting.  This card is not a super typical card for me, but I have been searching for some stamps that are really different and will make cards for different recipients easier to make.

I first made a loose watercolor background.  I stamped the lion right over it and hand cut it out.  I had this cool paper from a camping patterned paper pack that it happened to coordinate perfectly.  I thought this sentiment circle, from this sentiment set, looked like something that might be stamped onto a box for your safari trip - so that worked out great, too.

Supplies: I Brake for Stamps Lion Face, Sentiment set, Versafine Black ink, Pink Paislee Outfitters 6x6 paper pad, Recollections grey kraft cardstock  (As always, save 10% on your stamp order at I Brake for Stamps with my code, SAVE10HEIDI)

One-Sheet Wonder Christmas Cards - Alternate Layouts

Hi everyone! I know I’m like 10 years behind, but I recently became interested in some of the one-sheet wonder layouts.  There are only a few for 6x6 pads, but I found this one that I liked pretty well. If you click the link, there is a download for the cuts of patterned paper.  My one-sheet is the pretty poinsettia paper.

However, I like to use up a lot of patterned paper, and don’t usually create very simple cards, so I added more papers to each, added black mats and altered the layouts for more variety.  There was one layout that I didn’t prefer, so I just made a second card with one of the others.

I added simple accents to the stamped sentiments with markers.

(If you are very detail-oriented, you will notice that I must have had scraps leftover.  I did, but my patterned paper was a bit of a larger print, so when I cut those 1x1 inch squares, not all of them worked.)

This is the card I made a duplicate.  The stamping on this one was fun!

For this card, I stamped two poinsettias in red and green, then layered them and added Nuvo glitter drop to the center.
Supply list: Close to My Heart Mistletoe Wishes, ‘Tis The Season Cardmaking and Just Treats Stamp sets, Versafine black ink, red and green Water-based markers to color in certain parts, Hero Arts Red Royal shadow ink, Gina K green ink, Nuvo glitter drops Blizzard, Gina Marie X stitched circle dies, Spellbinders circle dies

Camping Themed Thank You card (Purple Onion Designs)

Hello again!  Glad you are here!

I needed to make a thank you card, and it had to be camping-themed.  So I got out some of the Purple Onion stamps I have been collecting and made this scene.  I did use my trusty stampamajig AND masking, but it was pretty straightforward.

I then colored the image with markers, using some stippling to get texture.  I did color the sky, but was unhappy with it (it was my first attempt at a night sky) so I trimmed out the scene and placed it over this background that was in my stash.  (It was made with light blue cardstock, mopping up some excess distress and distress oxide inks from my work surface.) This worked out well!  I just had to paper piece on the moon.

Supplies:  Purple Onion Designs stamps from the A Sweet Summer collection, Memento and Versafine Black inks, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, other items from my stash.

I would love to enter this card into Back to Basics Inky Backgrounds challenge.

Thanks so much for visiting, and a big double thanks to those of you who comment and subscribe!

Hot Air Balloon!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  We should have clear skies for at least a day!

I have a clean and simple card to share today.  This card was worked up for several challenges, and I like how it turned out.

I first stamped the balloon on white cardstock, colored it, and embossed it with the cloud embossing folder.  I then paper-pieced the balloon. I was concerned it wouldn’t lay flat over the embossing, but it worked just fine!

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Hot Air Balloon, Hero Arts sentiment, Versafine black ink and Versamark ink, White detail embossing powder, Darcie Cloud embossing folder, Gina K Navy cardstock.

I would love to enter this in SimonSayStamp’s Wednesday Challenge - Bling it On, Tuesday Throwdown - Add Some Texture, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes and SplitCoastStampers Free4All Balloon Challenge.

Thanks so much for your visit!!
