“Add a Die Cut” Challenge for March!

Happy March!  Spring has really sprung here, and Just for Fun’s theme for their Monthly challenge is to Add a Die cut!  Hope you will play along!

Sadly, my Cuttlebug made a huge popping sound last week, and it no longer cuts or embosses!  It was an original version that I have had for at least 5 years (and I had bought it used for only $25) so I did get my money’s worth, but I am not able to get another right away.

Happily, I had a couple die cut pieces in my scrap box, so I was able to play along with this challenge.  I added a lovely Asian vase stamp with springy cherry blossoms on it.  I colored this with markers and then added shading on either sides using light blue distress ink.  I ❤️ coloring this way!

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Asian Vase with Blossoms, Sentiment Sheet 3, Memento and Versafine Black inks, Anna Griffin patterned paper, Sizzix Dotted Rectangles dies, American Crafts ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today!  I appreciate your visit, and hope you visit your blog soon!

You can find me on facebook or pinterest, too.

Sorry about your Cuttlebug! Maybe someone can fix it for you? Thank goodness for spare diecuts in your stash that enabled you to play along with a fun card! Great elements for a great card!

So beautiful and so sorry the Cuttlebug broke but now you have a good reason to shop for a new machine. I sometimes wonder as much as I use mine how long it will last too. Glad you had some pre-cut dies to work with.

Ah, Heidi, I'm so sorry that your Cuttlebug broke! :( That's so frustrating when you want to use the many dies we love. But I'm so glad you had this extra one in your stash. You've certainly made a beautiful card with this lovely Asian vase. I love how you've colored it, shading in just the right places. It's a stunning card, sweet friend! Hoping you'll be able to find another die-cutting machine soon. Hugs and love! xoxo

Sweet card Heidi. So sorry to hear your cuttlebug took a dive. Its frustrating to find out how much we rely on those die cutters these days. Hope you're able to replace it soon.

What a darling card. You always use such beautiful DP. Your vase is coloured so well.

I'm so sorry to hear that your CB broke down and that you can't get another one for a while. I just don't know what I'd do without mine. I've had my CB for ten years and is used so much. The one end keeps popping off but it hasn't bit the dust just yet.

Have a nice weekend.
