Ocean Engagement Card

My very good friend just recently got engaged, and he asked her at the beach!  Her happy place.  So, naturally, I wanted to make a themed engagement card to congratulate the happy couple.

I stamped my shells in different neutral colors of Versafine ink, cut them out,  and colored them with sponges and distress inks.  Before that distress ink dried all the way, I brushed on some different colors of Perfect Pearls.  Then I set the Perfect Pearls by spritzing them with water.

You can see that the background was made by tearing papers and then layering them to look like the sea and the sand.  The sand is kraft paper that I stamped with a mesh background stamp. The water is a double-sided blue cardstock I had in my scrap box.

Since I was hand delivering this card, I added lots of bling. I thought the gems and pearls looks very bridal and pretty.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a shell, and then my sentiment over top in navy.

Don’t forget that JFF’s Monthly Challenge is By the Water!  I hope you will share a card with us, and there is a gift certificate up for grabs!   The linkup is here.

I would also like to enter this in the Library Challenge - The Gift of the Sea

Have a wonderful day!
