Our Daily Bread - Crocheted Poppy Card

Hi there!  I have a card I created as a combination of challenges.  Sometimes I like to focus just on one challenge, and sometimes a few will just all come together to make the decisions about cardmaking easy.

The challenges were to use a circle, lace and a scripture verse.  The lace is the crocheted frame of my stamp, which is so pretty!  I stamped the remainder of the verse inside, since there was not enough room on the outside for the whole thing.  I added a frame of score lines, too.

I decided that I wanted to make the stamp look like stained glass, so after coloring with water-based markers, I used my Versamarker all over the circle so I could add several layers of clear embossing powder.  I did 3-4 layers, until I thought it looked right.

A lot of my family members really like the card to have some shine!

Power Poppy March Challenge

Hello! I can't believe it is already the last day of March.  I am *just in time* for the deadline of Power Poppy's monthly challenge.  The challenge was a sketch plus the requirement that there be a window with something peeking out.

This is my interpretation of the sketch. 

I stamped onto watercolor paper and the colored and blended out with watercolor pencils and a waterbrush.  I then die cut my window with a bird die.  Doing the die cutting first would have been easier!  I inked with distress inks around the edge and then finished everything off with some pretty patterned paper. 

I really liked the blue sponging and the blue in the paper - it did wonders to liven this card up!

Clean and Simple Card with Black

I have been thinking about Clean and Simple cards, which is a style I use often, and wondering if I could get a truly clean and simple look using a black card base.  This is what I came up with.

I colored the image in with gel pens, mostly to challenge myself and see if I could. I was surprised that you could do some blending with them.  I used glue dots to adhere the fussy-cut image, using two layers of them for the buds to give that part of the image more dimension.

I also used the same stamps to complete the inside of the card.  This was fun!

Stately Sunflower Thank You Card

Today I have a fun card to share!  I did more coloring with chalks onto textured paper.  It is so fun and easy to do.  If you still have some chalks lying around, I hope you will try it. I did a very similar card here.

I do like to fussy cut these out since you cannot really stay in the lines when using chalk.  

The white panel was done by using a die, but not cutting with the die, instead using the sandwich for embossing.

Christmas Joy - Easy Christmas card

Hello and Happy Monday!

Today I have as easy Christmas card idea to share!  Sadly, the photo does not do the sparkle embossing powder any justice.  Sparkle Embossing Powder is my most used embossing powder!  The jar is actually half empty.

I also used generation stamping with the snowflakes after noticing they were too bold stamped first generation.

I am nearly out of Thank You cards, so I think many cards I will be making in the near future are going to have that sentiment.  I used my score board to emboss lines on the left hand side of the card panel.

Using Patterned Paper Up (or trying to...)

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I have not had nearly as much time to craft in the last week as I would like to, but I do have two cards to share today.

I was trying to use a lot of patterned paper!  I have noticed that there is a lot less of this being used right now,  but I don't always go with the trends, so I like to use it still!   Plus, I have so much!  :)

The second card would have looked perfectly fine with no stamping, but I am a stamper at heart and could not bear not to add some!

I also used the same stamp set for these, along with some pre-printed toner sheets to do foiling.  I used my rather old laminator and it seemed to work just fine.
