“You Light up my World” Camping card

Hello!  I have a card to share for Crafty Hazelnut’s April Patterned Paper challenge!  The theme is always Anything Goes as long as you use some patterned paper.

I masked my stamps to create a little scene, colored with alcohol markers and then paired with some fun patterned paper.

Supplies: Darcie’s LLC Forest Be with You stamp set, Memento and Versfine black inks, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, My Mind’s Eye Happy Camper 6x6 paper pad, other supplies from my stash

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll see you again tomorrow!

Happy Easter Bunny!

Hello!  Hope you are ready for Easter!  I am not!  I did already send out card earlier this week, so the two I made today will go in the stash for next year.  Which is good because I didn’t have nearly enough this year.

I made this first card for the Library Challenge for Watership Down.  I haven’t read it, but apparently, it is about bunnies and I was inspired by the colors on the cover.  The bunny is stamped in dark green, I think it works even if most will assume it is black.

The second card was made for ModSquad’s Ready for Spring Challenge and SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.  I used some pretty blues for a very springy look!

Supplies:  Craft Smart (Michaels) 125531 Bunny stamp, Versafine Olympia Green ink, Hero Arts Shadow ink Pool, Recollections Backyard Table 6x6 paper pad, My Mind’s Eye The Sweetest Thing 6x6 Paper pad, Cuttlebug Decorative Tiles embossing folder, Die-Namics Pierced Squares die, other items from my stash

Hey!  You might have noticed that I have embossed and die cut things on this card!  I was recently able to replace my Cuttlebug!  It is the Version 3 and I have to say I like the improvements on it.  You can bypass the C plate altogether, by using their new grey embossing mat in the sandwich. I like it!

Also, I replaced the blade on my trimmer with a titanium one, and it is acceptable, for now!  I do still want to replace it and it sounds like a lot of you like the Tonic one, but gladly, that can wait for a while!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you again soon!

Christmas Cardinal for Rudolph Days

I feel a little odd posting a Christmas card just days before Easter, but I did want to get in on this month’s Rudolph Challenge, Double D’s Just Wing It Challenge, and to get another card put in the stash.

I colored my image with alcohol markers. I muddied the eye up a little bit, so I added a touch of black Nuvo drops, then when that dried, I added a dot with my white gel pen.  I think that may have saved the card.

Supplies: Elizabeth Crafts Cardinal stamp, Inkadinkado Sentiment, Memento and Versafine black inks, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Crate Paper Peppermint 6x6 paper pad, other items from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!  I have been making a lot of cards lately, so I will be back soon to share.

Simple Stamping - Daffodils Sympathy Card

When is the last time you just stamped and image and left it as is?  The StampTV challenge this month is to use black and white and just a pop of color (and you must add a bow), so I decided this pretty stamp could stand on its own.  I think it works well with this arrangment as a sympathy card.

Supplies: Gina K Designs Sending Love stamp set, scalloped die cut from bristol paper was given to me, Memento black ink, Versafine black ink, other supplies from my stash

I would love to enter Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Floral Frenzy Challenge and Word Art Wednesday’s Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks for taking a look!

Crazy Cat Birthday Card

Hello!  We were part of that big spring snowstorm yesterday.  I haven’t seen the official reports, but I am thinking we got close to a foot of snow.  It is a very pretty scene out there!  A very odd March!

Today I have a card to share with this crazy cat!  I really like that I can color these in any color I wish!  I found this one already stamped on bristol paper, and I was unsure what ink I had used, so I colored it with pencils.

The background is blue distress oxide ink stamped over a lavender cardstock. I did spritz the stamp with water to get a distressed look.  I plan on giving this to a man, so I wanted to some masculine details.

I added sentiments from a Power Poppy set that I think go along with it!  And I even made an inside panel.  I would love to enter this in the Cards In Envy No Patterned Paper Challenge.

Supplies: Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Crazy Cats stamp set, Power Poppy Short Stacks stamp set, Hero Arts Tweed background stamp, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Distress Oxide broken China ink,  Prismacolor pencils, other items from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I appreciate your time and comments!

Ducklings Easter Card - EASY and cute

Hello!  Easter is just around the corner?  Are you sending cards this year?  Here are two easy card designs I want to share with limited supplies - stamps, ink, paper, a paper cutter and glue.

I stamped the ducks onto light yellow cardstock and staggered the stamp as I created rows of ducks.   For the first card, I used a bold striped patterned paper for my background, and framed out my ducks in the center. The sentiment was added on white cardstock.

For the second card, I used the entire stamped card panel, and just added the leftover strip of the striped paper on the side.  I added a very old brad from my stash near the sentiment to draw your eye right to the greeting.

Supplies:  Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Duck and Ducklings, Happy Easter sentiment, Hero Arts Butter Bar ink, Versafine Black ink, 1 sheet of paper from the American Crafts Everyday 6x6 paper pad, yellow and white cardstock from my stash, My Mind’s Eye Tangerine brad.

Spring Tulips Easter Card

Hello and Happy Monday!  It is sunny and a little warmer here.  I just took a nice, long walk.  I have a springy card to share today using some older stamps that have been favorites of mine.

I stamped the background stamp using three colors of ink.  I added the tulips in black right over top and then trimmed it out.

On the inside of the card, I used the same three colors of ink to stamp the eggs. I thought the polka dots there mimicked the dots in the berries on the card front.

Supplies:  Hero Art Newspaper Tulips, Berry Background Stamp, Clear Design April Stamp set, Hero Arts shadow inks in Green Hills, Mint Julep and Tide Pool, Versafine Onyx Black ink, My Mind’s Eye enamel dots, background die cut was a gifted item, Gina K Designs Jelly Bean green cardstock.

I would love to play along with A Blog Named Hero’s Use Your Favorite Hero Arts items, and SimonSaysStamp’s Wednesday Challenge which is Easter Inspired!  Also, I would like to play with Card In Envy’s No Patterned Paper challenge!  Thanks for running this challenges to help inspire us to use our stamps and paper!

Thank you for your visit today!  I hope you will leave a comment with your blog information in it so that I can come visit you too!

Superstitious Handmade Card - And a trimmer question

I hope everyone has a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day this weekend!  And stay safe!  Our local police has sent out safety warnings similar to New Year’s Eve, hoping that everyone will celebrate responsibly.

Supplies: Deep Red Stamps Superstitious, Versafine Onyx Black ink, Prismacolor colored pencils, Crate Paper Party Day 6x6 paper pad, Gina K Designs In the Navy cardstock.

I would love to enter the Cards in Envy Green Things challenge!

If you love your paper trimmer, I would love to know which one you have and why you picked it! I have been having a lot of frayed edges with mine, even when I change the blade.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Camping Themed Card

I was so happy to have gotten to go to the stamp show last weekend.  I had never even been to a real stamp store, so to be able to be in a room with 17 stamping vendors was really neat.  I also bought a few things, including the stamp set I am using today.  It is a new stamping brand to me, and they had so many tempting sets.

But, there is nothing like a camping set with cute sayings!  I am a sucker for these because I send lots of cards to my son when he is at summer camp, and there are plently of other outdoorsy types in my family to whom I can send these cards.

I definitely recommend sending funny cards if you send them to kids at camp because you want them to be encouraged to have fun at camp and not be homesick.  These sayings would also be good if you send to hospitalized kids.

Card details:  I did some masking for a little scene and colored with markers.  It took me a couple tries to get the fox color right.  Then I just grabbed my campy paper and scraps in my scrap box.

Supplies: Darcie’s LLC Forest Be with You stamp set, Memento and Versfine black inks, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, My Mind’s Eye Happy Camper 6x6 paper pad, other supplies from my stash

I would love to enter this into the Library Challenge: The Hobbit.  I was inspired by the fox in the book and the muted colors in the cover.

Daffodils and more - Flower of the Month 2018

Hello!  Hope your day is going well.  I am using this flower garden as double duty - Daffodils for my Flower of the Month theme, as well as a fun challenge from Power Poppy to get inspiration from fabric.  I was not sure if I should go upstairs and dig around to use fabric on my card, but I ended up playing it safe and grabbed colors from the fabric shown in their inspiration pinterest board HERE.

Last week, I got a surprise package in the mail from Cat! She sent me a bunch of die cuts since she knew my Cuttlebug was broken! How sweet of her. I used the sentiment die cut here, colored it yellow with a marker and then added stickles glitter to help it stand out.

Supplies: Power Poppy Natural Beauties Stamps set, Memento black ink, Spectrum Noir markers, KI Memories 6x6 paper pad, thanks die and Stickles glitter glue

Flower of the Month Card Series - Daffodil

Hello!  Welcome back to my Flower of the Month Series.  I am trying to make one or more cards each month using stamps I already have that are the birth flower for the month.  This month, the flower is daffodils, which is fun since my daffodils are working their way up in the garden.  Some of them have buds, but no blooms yet.

I often stamp my image twice if I am going to color it.  It gives me room to mess up.  But when I don’t mess up the coloring, that gives me the option to color another way and make two cards!

For the first card, I used some yellow Distress Oxides and a stencil in the background.  The second card, I used patterned papers.

Supplies: I Brake for Stamps March Daffodil, Memento Black ink, Just for Fun Happy Easter Sentiment, Versafine black ink, Distress Oxide Mustard Seed ink, Heidi Swapp stencil, DCWV Citrus Stack papers

I would love to play along with the Flower Challenge’s March Anything Goes theme!

Thanks for your visit today!  I appreciate it!  I have more daffodil stamps so I hope to have a couple more posts for the Flower of the Month in March.  Find all the Flower of the Month themed posts HERE.

Quick Share Easter Sheep Card

Here is a quick share for your today!  I was given this stamped image and don’t know who makes it.  Do you?  I did, however, have such a fun time coloring it!  The sentiment is Just for Fun.

I would like to enter this card into the Pixie’s Crafty Workshop - Snippets #321 Challenge since the purple and pink papers were from my scrap box.

Easter Egg Tree Cards & A Stamp Show

Hello everyone!  Hope you are having a good Wednesday!  We are getting snow today, but Easter is still on it’s way!  And I am hoping to go to a stamp show this weekend!

I am coloring the Easter Egg Tree stamp with colored pencils today.  I colored it once on white cardstock, and again on green!  Since colored pencils give really good coverage on dark cardstock, so the colors do still pop.  I added glitter Nuvo drops on the white version, and then Glossy Accents to the Green. (Just a note, I first tried the clear Nuvo drops for this, but they cracked as they dried, so I re-did the stamping and found Glossy Accents works better.)  I like each version equally, but I like to mix things up.

I had fun pairing this image with springy patterned papers and cute sentiments.  As you may know, I don’t have a die cutter at the moment, so I did what I could with just a paper cutter.

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Easter Egg Tree, Happy Easter Sentiment, Do I Smell Jelly Beans sentiment, Versafine Black Ink, American Crafts Everyday 6x6 paper pad, other items from my stash.

Have you ever been to a stamp show and sale?  I have never seen one that seemed close enough to me to attend.  BUT there is one this weekend in Oaks, PA, the Stamp, Scrap and Art Tour. JFF and other vendors will be there, and I hope to attend.  Anyone else going to be there? Details can be found here.

Peacock Card with Distress Oxide Inks

Hello!  TGIF!  It is so rainy here, but I am looking forward to the break of the weekend.  I would like to share a card I made for a mix of challenges, including a brand new one!  Scroll down for more information.

I used my stamp positioner to first stamp the peacock image in the three tones of blue Distress Oxide ink.  Then, I inked just the edges of the stamp in black Distress Oxide (which, of course, is actually grey, given that it oxidizes a little) and stamped again.  I really loved the rich look of this.  I added Nuvo Glitter drops to the tail.

Supplies: Hero Arts Peacock stamp, Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans and Black Soot, Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Thanks sentiment, Nuvo Crystal Drops in Clear Glitter, other items from my stash.

I was inspired by these challenges:
The Library challenge - Pride and Prejudice **brand new. I was inspired by the cover of the book
SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesdays 324-325 Anything Goes

I hope you will have a wonderful day!  Thanks for visiting!

“Add a Die Cut” Challenge for March!

Happy March!  Spring has really sprung here, and Just for Fun’s theme for their Monthly challenge is to Add a Die cut!  Hope you will play along!

Sadly, my Cuttlebug made a huge popping sound last week, and it no longer cuts or embosses!  It was an original version that I have had for at least 5 years (and I had bought it used for only $25) so I did get my money’s worth, but I am not able to get another right away.

Happily, I had a couple die cut pieces in my scrap box, so I was able to play along with this challenge.  I added a lovely Asian vase stamp with springy cherry blossoms on it.  I colored this with markers and then added shading on either sides using light blue distress ink.  I ❤️ coloring this way!

Supplies: Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Asian Vase with Blossoms, Sentiment Sheet 3, Memento and Versafine Black inks, Anna Griffin patterned paper, Sizzix Dotted Rectangles dies, American Crafts ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today!  I appreciate your visit, and hope you visit your blog soon!
